We're finally getting married!

We met (for real this time) in New Orleans at a physical therapy conference around March of 2018. Well, we met at a bar after the conference was done for the day. There was an instant attraction and connection leaving both of us wanting more. However, surrounded by a bunch of friends, we ended up parting ways for most of the night. Thank goodness Bourbon St. stays busy all night because we ran into each other again...but this time I (Kira) made a move. After we both returned to California, the rest was history. We had our first official date in April followed by Michael leaving for China in June for a physical therapy internship giving us our first test of the relationship...long distance! No worries here, we worked around the clock to FaceTime daily despite the 15hr time difference with our love only growing stronger. We got to know each other on such a deep, intimate level which only strengthened our relationship. Fast forward (with lots of memories and joy in between) to April of 2019 where Michael got down on one knee while on a hike in Palos Verdes and asked me to be his wife forever (after I was complaining about a blister from my shoe of course). I whole heartedly said yes and the wedding planning began - after a surprise engagement party! Unfortunately, COVID-19 interrupted most of our lives for the last year (and a half almost!). We made the decision in 2020 to post-pone our original wedding date and have since moved the date to what you now see - November 6, 2021. It really has been a whirlwind since getting engaged 2 years ago. We have fallen deeper in love with every passing day and even got a puppy together (see: Finn)! We couldn't wait to spend the rest of our lives together and recently made the executive decision to get married in a civil ceremony. Despite being husband and wife "legally," we continue to choose to celebrate and have a loving ceremony & reception with you all in November. We cannot wait to see you! xoxo
