    OUR STORY
    RECOMMENDATIONS

RECOMMENDATIONS

We're so excited for you to join us for our wedding but we also know there are other things you'll need to do too! Here are some of our favorite locally-owned spots to visit when in the area! If you visit three of these stops you're basically a Wichitan. If you need additional recommendations in other areas, please reach out! We love sharing our favorite hidden gems with people coming to visit!
Reverie Coffee Roasters

Reverie Coffee Roasters

2202 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita, KS 67214
, (316) 201-1144

Fabulous coffee, pastries, and a great view of Brittan's high school! Located right on Douglas St, it's a convenient stop for a pick me up!

Doo-Dah Diner

Doo-Dah Diner

206 East Kellogg Street, Wichita, KS 67202
, (316) 265-7011

A Wichita staple, it's been visited by more famous people than they can keep track of. Delicious breakfast served in an environment that screams Wichita. Stop by for a delicious bite and learn a little about Doo-Dah (another nickname for Wichita). Fair warning - they do not do call ahead and will not put you on the list until you're entire party is present, if you're in a time crunch check out another great breakfast recommendation!

The Beacon Restaurant

The Beacon Restaurant

909 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita, KS 67202
, (316) 263-3397

A breakfast diner with virtually no online presence... it's got to be good! The Beacon is a downtown Wichita institution, having been the neighbor to the Wichita Eagle for decades, it's known for fast service, good coffee, and that good diner breakfast that makes everything better. If you go, get a black coffee, hashbrowns extra crispy, and a side of breakfast ham - that's what Brittan would do!

Little Saigon Restaurant

Little Saigon Restaurant

1015 North Broadway, Wichita, KS 67214
, (316) 265-0054

Our go-to, favorite place to grab take-out when we're in Wichita. Now, it can be confusing - their neighbor is called "Saigon" and they have similar menus BUT Little Saigon is the clear winner! We recommend anything with their charbroiled pork in it and their wonton soup - mmm, so yummy!

Picasso's Pizzeria

Picasso's Pizzeria

621 West Douglas Avenue, Wichita, KS 67213
, (316) 267-5423

One of Brittan's favorite stops in high school, Picasso's is a Delano staple. Serving GIANT slices that will leave you full and happy!

Margaritas Cantina

Margaritas Cantina

3109 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita, KS 67211
, (316) 682-2299

If you're craving Mexican food, look no further than this local staple! Their lunch menu is the bomb- get the Mini Macho Burrito or Fried Flour Taco- they are delicious! Fair warning - their dinner service is less family-friendly, there is typically a band, and it's a little more bar-like.

Angelo's Italian Restaurant

Angelo's Italian Restaurant

5231 East Central Avenue, Wichita, KS 67208
, (316) 612-9058

A multi-generational favorite for Brittan's family! Her grandma, aunts, cousins, and great-grandma all worked at Angelo's locations and have grown up loving their food! They have amazing homemade Italian with generations-old recipes that leave a mark on your memory and stomach!

Nifty Nut House

Nifty Nut House

527 Saint Francis, Wichita, KS 67214
, (316) 265-0571

Not a restaurant, but definitely a signature Wichita experience! Nifty Nut House is your local candy store meets Costco. With *literally* every candy or snack you've *ever* wanted - the Nut House is our go-to for grabbing snacks before a trip or just to stock up. They've got it all, dried fruit, nuts, trail mixes, gummies in every shape, jelly beans, vintage candy, chocolate dipped anything, fudge - this place is peak Wichita culture. Josh loves the Elotes Corn Nuts and Brittan always snags some pineapple-flavored gummy bears!

Peace, Love & Pie

Peace, Love & Pie

645 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita, KS 67202
, (316) 440-4706

Okay, everyone needs dessert. This shop is run by family friends and has amazing pie-themed treats. Not a pie person (what is wrong with you) - no worries, they serve ice cream and other tasty treats that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth :)

Frost

Frost

3429 East Douglas Avenue, Wichita, KS 67218
, (316) 260-5616

Another delicious dessert spot. With amazing homemade ice cream, cakes, and other baked goods they've got something for everyone!

Sedgwick County Zoo

Sedgwick County Zoo

5555 West Zoo Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67212
, (316) 660-9453

If you've got kiddos and are looking for a fun morning/day adventure look no further than the Sedgwick County Zoo. It's a fabulous zoo with updated facilities and interactive moments for kiddos too! The gorilla exhibit was always a hit for our family as well as the penguins! The petting zoo is also said to be pretty fun, Brittan hasn't always had the most fun with the goats, but everyone else seems to have better luck - lol

Exploration Place

Exploration Place

300 North Mc Lean Boulevard, Wichita, KS 67203
, (316) 660-0600

Another great option for kiddos - Exploration Place is the bomb! It's a science museum on the Arkansas River in Wichita and is SO MUCH FUN. Like so much fun I would totally go now and have a blast. With great views, fun interactive exhibits, and a great location for a walk afterward - what's not to love? For out of towners looking for other ideas for their kiddos but not into the provided options - checkout any of the "Museums on the River" in Wichita. We have an Art Museum, Cow Town, Native American History Museum, Riverside Park's Zoo, and a few others in addition to Exploration Place!
