It was a frigid Sunday afternoon and the Cincinnati Bengals were playing the Kansas City Chiefs in the National Football League Semi Championship game. Megan had just dropped her sister off at the airport and went downtown to "The Banks" to meet with a few friends who were die hard Bengal fans. Megan, not being from Cincinnati and having a great Uncle who played for the Chiefs awhile back, wore a bright red shirt that had the Kansas City Chiefs logo on it.... The truth is Megan was rooting for both teams but of course had to keep things interesting! Kyle, being from Northeast Ohio, truly a Browns fan but wore Bengals in support of that game, also went to Jefferson Social to watch. He went with the girl he was in the early stages of romantically getting to know and her group of friends... It's safe to say they didn't work out... Sometime during the game, Kyle went in for a side conversation with Megan in questioning her fashion choices for the game... Megan explained with her eyes still on the TV... A while later, in the 4th quarter when the Chiefs threw the game away, the bar had completely erupted! Applause, cheering, hugs, and high fives filled up the entire bar. Megan, although cheering along with them, was getting booed and laughed at, but then something out of the ordinary happened... In the midst of everything, Kyle had taken off his Bengals beanie and put it on Megan's head and took a picture of her without her knowledge. He proceeded to give Megan his phone with the picture ready to be sent as a text message (SMOOTH), Megan seeing the photo of herself had looked up at Kyle and in that moment they locked eyes for the first time. Megan feeling so impressed by this move, she decided to give him her actual number, thinking however, that she'd never hear from him; but later that night he did reach out and the conversation started. Megan was pretty hesitant at first, while Kyle was persistent. They agreed to a date and Kyle planned the details. The first date was at The Eagle, which was actually a little sign to Megan because her late father inspired all of his kids to live like an Eagle: strong, powerful, independent, and leaders (she even has a stuffed animal that's an eagle). Megan and Kyles first date was like out of a movie; the similarities, the values, family backgrounds and future goals were far too aligned to make this out of anything other than Gods sheer will. In no means are they a perfect couple, but everyday for the past 3.5 years, they have chosen to love one another, and on August 1st, 2025 they decided to choose each other forever. Kyle and Megan will have an intimate ceremony at the Cathedral Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in downtown Denver on Saturday August 22, 2026. They will follow with a Welcome Party at Monarch Casino and Resort in Black Hawk and a wedding reception on August 23, 2026 at North Star Gatherings in Idaho Springs with the rest of their family and friends to celebrate. Since Megan's fathers passing in 2016, her heart has been set in getting married in Colorado. It was his favorite place in the world, and its where she feels closest to him, plus you get the gorgeous views of the mountains! Kyle and Megan hope that their loved ones can understand and appreciate their destination and join them to celebrate this once in a lifetime love! We can't wait to see you there.
