Is this a wedding?

Answer

Yes! We are planning to have a pretty 'standard' wedding on Friday with an aisle, officiant, vows, dinner, reception, etc. Other than that, we are hosting a lake weekend with all of our favorite people. You should plan to bring a book, relax, play games, swim, make s'mores, and explore!

What in the world is Lake Powell?

Answer

Lake Powell is a reservoir on the Colorado River in Utah and Arizona. It is a major vacation destination visited by approximately two million people every year. If you have not already, give Lake Powell a google and see how beautiful it is.

What is there to do at Lake Powell?

Answer

We will be docking our houseboat similarly to what is shown in this image above. From that spot, you can hike and explore the rocks, you can go fishing, swimming, all standard lake and boating activities.

Will I be camping?

Answer

As we have guests flying in from out of state that are not able to bring camping gear, they will have first priority of sleeping on the boat (22 Sleeping Spots). We are asking that the guests that are driving from Colorado and Arizona bring their camping gear. However, this is all dependent on who attends! We will have a better idea towards the end of February when we get back all RSVPs.

Should I just rent another House Boat?

Answer

You are more than welcome to rent another Houseboat if you'd like!! As we are still waiting on guests to RSVP we cannot confirm sleeping arrangements, so it might be beneficial to wait on this for a few months! If you are planning on renting an additional houseboat, please let Caroline know as this will help in planning all other guest accommodations!

What things should I be sure to pack?

Can I rent my own boat or jet skis?

Answer

Yes!! If you are interested, you are more than welcome to rent your own speed boats, pontoon boats, or jet skis (pending availability at Bullfrog Marina). Rentals are available for weekends or just days!!

How much work will I be required to do?

Answer

We want you to enjoy to the lake with very minimal work! However, similar to other camping experiences, the more helpful each person is, the less work there is! To make it more fun... we will be assigning teams, and each team will be responsible for cooking (i.e. helping heat up all pre-made meals) and cleaning up for 1 meal throughout the weekend. You will receive your team assignments in your welcome bag!! Additionally, there are tasks that we may ask you to help with like anchoring the boats, setting up benches/tables for the wedding, restocking coolers, and other items that will help in making the weekend flow more smoothly.

What will the temperature be?

Answer

This is the desert in September so it will be quite warm. The average temps for this time of year are perfect... highs of 88° and lows of 61°.

Will there be internet?

Answer

Yes! We have rented a Starlink Roaming Device so we will have internet available on the boat! You will have very limited internet on the drive through the canyon until you reach Bullfrog Marina and connect to either the Starlink or Hotel Wifi. Additionally, you will have very limited service if/when you are not with the Houseboat.

Although we love your kids, due to space limitations, we are only able to accommodate children of immediate family members.
