Nick and Melissa met in Concert Choir at Mansfield University, where they both attended undergrad. Melissa was a soprano 2, already having been in the ensemble for a year, and Nick a bass 2, starting his first semester of college.

Nick invited Melissa to be the plus one at his Phi Mu Alpha little’s wedding. After the wedding, Nick asked her to start a formal relationship together. After nearly a decade of friendship they finally started dating. The first year of their relationship was long distance between New York and Maryland.

Melissa was offered a job at Georgetown University in Washington D.C.! This allowed for Melissa to move to Maryland and move in with Nick! They apartment hunted together and moved in a week before Melissa started her new job, and joined choir!

Nick proposed to Melissa at the National Cathedral right up front after a Cathedral Choral Society concert they both performed in. Later in the year they had their engagement photo session on the grounds of the Cathedral where they share their love of choral music every week at rehearsals.
