Times were different. It was 2017 and everyone knew each other, and if you didn't your friends did. We met formally several times. I (Emma) even ended up at Jamie's (Nolans Father) house for a party one Friday night. Let just say it wasn't much of a party... if you know you know. Though I didn't personally know Nolan, our paths crossed almost every year since I ran in the Fleet Feet Run Club in elementary school. We go way back believe it or not. Years go by, and I (Nolan) spot this beautiful brunette across the room at a local dive bar. After persistently begging to buy her a drink, she said, "I won't be entertaining anyone tonight". I knew in that moment I was going to get her to accept my drink. She did. A few weeks later He came over to my new place with his best friend and best man Benjamin Ritchie, my mother (Katie) was there as well. You know what they say, a mother always knows. By the end of the night, she was telling me to give him a chance, that he couldn't keep his eyes off me. Just like that night at the bar, you (Emma) completely captivated me, and now you're the most consistent thing I have ever known. After that night we were inseparable, and to this day we still are. Life and people change throughout the years, and I knew if there was ever going to be a person I would spend the rest of my days with, it would be Emma. Through patients, courage, and friendship, our relationship flourished into something beautiful. He (Nolan) made me feel strong, smart, and wanted. From his family to his heart, I knew I had always made the right decision in choosing Nolan to be my partner. As our relationship grew it wasn't long after we moved into our new place together, that I (Nolan) wanted to marry her. So I did. Scouring her Pinterest boards and looking through her jewelry collection, I knew she needed something as timeless as she was. He asked me to marry him November of last year at one of our favorite weekend spots in the North Carolina mountains. Though I knew it was coming, tears of joy rolled down my cheeks knowing I was going to be spending the rest of my life with a man who would always and I mean ALWAYS make my dreams come true. Now here we are and our story is just beginning to unfold. Thank you for celebrating this very special day with us.
