Weekend in Michigan

So why Michigan you ask? This state marks an important node on our journey to each other. An invisible string brought together a Texan and a Wyomingite to this Midwest state at the exact right timing in our lives. We're so excited to be able to share with you some of our favorite things to do in our origin state! We hope you can make a little weekend vacation out of your trip to Michigan.

New Holland Brewing - Grand Rapids Brewpub (The Knickerbocker)

417 Bridge Street Northwest, Grand Rapids, MI 49504

Grand Rapids is considered "Beer City USA". This is due to the city's numerous craft breweries, including over 80 breweries. New Holland Brewing is one of the most famous.

Cherry Republic | Holland

Cherry Republic | Holland

29 W 8th St., Holland, MI 49423

One of our favorite cherry wineries. Yes, you heard that right - Michigan is known for its unique cherry wine. Holland is a beautiful town to spend the afternoon in, maybe spend some time on the beach.

Old Mission Peninsula Wine Trail

Old Mission Peninsula Wine Trail

15900 Rue De Vin, Traverse City, MI 49686

Old Peninsula is the area of upper Michigan that is considered wine country. There are many wineries you can stop at while driving up the peninsula. Alex and I did this with Calvin 3 summers ago.

Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island

Mackinac Island, MI 49757

We haven't gone to Mackinac together but both have been individually and its breath-taking. Small island, only accessible by short ferry, where there are no cars - only horse drawn carriages and bikes.
