How we met

March 18, 2017

Camille was on a softball team-bonding trip to Crazy Pinz, and Darren was working the laser tag counter. She made the first move. Fate gave her a broken gun so they could chat one-on-one while he fixed it.

Meeting the Parents

June 2017

When Darren met Janelle and Andrew for the first time, he walked through the door to see Andrew cleaning his firearms in the living room. To this day, Andrew swears it was a coincidence.

Making things official

July 26, 2017

After a movie date, Darren asked Camille to make things "official". They celebrated with milkshakes.

Co-habitating

August 2023

Darren and Camille moved in together when she started graduate school. They moved into their beloved, run-down duplex house. In this house, they built Camille's first gaming computer, adopted their third cat, watched the solar eclipse, and discovered that they both hate doing dishes.

Engaged!

October 6, 2024

Darren planned to pop the question on a Friday night, the first night of their weekend vacation, after a nice dinner. However, Camille forgot her wallet and turned their 5-hour drive into an 8-hour drive. They did not arrive until to their hotel until midnight. Plan A had failed. Darren planned to propose after dinner the next night, before they attended a concert. The weather was beautiful, the sunset was gorgeous, and he asked Camille to go on a walk into the sunset. It. Was. Perfect. However, she refused to go on a walk because she was drunk (off of a whopping two cocktails), her legs hurt, and she wanted to nap in the car before the concert. It was a glorious nap. Plan B had failed. During the concert, there was a mash-up of love songs the singer wrote for his wife. In the middle of this romantic ballad of songs, Darren proposed. Camille said "of course".

The Here and Now

Camille and Darren now live in Greenwood, IN with their three cats and one fish. Life is blissfully calm (most of the time), they drive each other a little crazy, and the dishes are never quite done. And truthfully, it’s just how they like it.
