It all started with a “match” on Hinge that led to a first date at a rooftop bar in Lincoln Park—The J. Parker. Between shared appetizers, a couple of drinks, and plenty of laughter, the two quickly realized there was something special between them. After a few months of dates like these, DJ brought Kara back to that same rooftop and asked her to make things official. Over the years that followed came new adventures: moving in together, welcoming one dog…and then another, celebrating milestones big and small, buying a condo, and eventually getting engaged. And so, the adventure continues…

After years of growing their love, learning how to be true partners, and becoming pet parents, DJ asked Kara the big question. He surprised her on their anniversary with a proposal at North Pond in Lincoln Park. Surrounded by stunning city views and followed by a romantic dinner, the evening was nothing short of magical.
