"Hal" 20 years of friendship and forever to go, Kayla met Halle in kindergarten. The two have shared some incredible times together! Mick is the oldest in the friend group, lucky for her she got to drive Kayla, Luke, and Halle to school until we got our own cars. She’s the friend that always reminds you of what you deserve and goes the extra miles for the ones she loves. They say opposites attract right? Welp... that just about covers it for the two. They balance each other out with their personalities and views on life. They met in 2008 through club volleyball at Orlando Volleyball Academy. Tory initially wasn’t a fan of Kayla since she came into 13s tryouts with her loud mouth and energy, which is Tory’s bread and butter. It was exactly what Tory was known for at the club. However, the very next year they made the same team at OVA. From 14s-18s club seasons, they were “pepper partners for life.” Sharing in many ups and downs of their sports careers, boy troubles, and other growing pains of your teenage years; the two of them became life long friends. "Madi" Kayla and Madi are former college teammates and roommates at Campbell. Madi is the friend with a level head and goofy personality. She's adventurous, sweet, and really good at finding the best margaritas. Their friendship goes beyond volleyball and she's been a great sounding board on how to navigate the next stages of life. Kayla's twin brother. Kayla's built in best friend. Luke has supported Kayla all throughout their lives and special moments. He was Kayla’s #1 fan during her career at CU, making a 3 hour drive just about every other weekend to watch her play. He’s protective and has always made sure to tell Kayla she deserves nothing but the best. But, like every good brother he knows how to push her buttons. The two may not live near each other now, but they are always a short phone call away. Funny moment- When Luke first saw what Brian looked like, he said…”Kayla, how the heck am I suppose to intimate that guy? A special friendship that came into Kayla's life just in time! The two first knew of each other through athletics at Campbell as Sarah was a member of the women's basketball team and in the same graduating class. Although they supported each other as classmates and through sports, the pair didn't become close until their sophomore year summer session at CU. Sarah's luck found herself all too many times in athletic training room doing rehab for her knee, Kayla stopped in to chat to a trainer and wound up keeping Sarah company. One of the best memories they have together is attending a Thomas Rhett concert. You'd think Brian's girlfriend at the time would be nervous to meet the parents, who wouldn't? Ohhh but little do you know of the infamous cousin and golden gal, "Ms. Abigail Stryffeler". Well long story short, Abby decided to pursue her masters and ended up living with Brian's parents in Sanford just up the road from school. Kayla & Abby ended up working for the local minor league baseball team in the summer of 2017. Kayla finally got the chance to properly meet Abby in Sanford during a family dinner. After all the anxiousness Kayla felt going into it, she hit Brian on the drive home saying "WHY DIDN'T YOU TAKE ME TO MEET HER SOONER!" Abby is lovable, blunt, animated, and caring cousin and friend to the couple. She's the back up Kayla calls when she needs help figuring out how to live with and manage a Stryffeler boy.
