The view looks out over the Cheat River Gorge and miles of rolling Appalachian mountains—it’s a classic West Virginia spot and definitely worth seeing. It’s perfect for a quick stop, a short walk, or catching a beautiful sunset. If you’re looking to take in the scenery while you’re here, this is the place to do it!

If you’re staying a few extra days and want a change of pace, Pittsburgh is about an hour and a half drive from Shinnston. The city has amazing restaurants, fun museums, sports, and gorgeous riverfront views. It’s an easy day trip if you’re up for exploring beyond the mountains.
