Although you will be visiting here for our wedding, the gardens have a variety of sights to experience. Denver Botanic Gardens Chatfield Farms is a 700-acre native plant refuge and working farm, home to historical buildings dating back to the 1800s, 2.5 miles of nature trails, a walk-through butterfly garden, and numerous wildflower gardens. Our ceremony and reception will be held at the Green Farm Barn (which is the red barn).
We got engaged here! The amphitheater is absolutely stunning with hiking trails, overlooks, and natural landscapes to see. They host world-famous concerts nightly using the rocks for sound amplification creating unforgettable experiences. This is where Kendall's graduation ceremony was held from Evergreen High School and where she worked for a year as concert security, which makes Red Rocks that much more special for us! We hope you have the chance to visit!
Evergreen Lake is at the heart of Evergreen, Colorado, where Kendall is from. Deston and Kendall visit this beautiful mountain town regularly to see her family. The lake provides a walking trail around the lake that leads to the Evergreen Dam and on to downtown Evergreen, where Kendall spent a lot of time as a kid. From the lake, you will see the beauty of a small mountain town that serves a lot of meaning and memories to the Gallagher family.
If there is an Avalanche preseason hockey game, you should consider attending while you are in Denver! The couple went on their second date here watching the Avalanche win against the New Jersey Devils. Through Deston growing up playing hockey as a child on to junior leagues and getting chosen from the Harvard team, and Kendall's experiences on her college dance team who danced for UNCO hockey, they share a mutual love for the sport of hockey and enjoy rooting for their teams, the Colorado Avalanche and the Dallas Stars.
Golden is a small mountain town right outside of the Denver area. There are some fun places to visit in this area, including a scenic drive through Lookout Mountain, eating at the Golden Mill, or walking along (or maybe tubing) the Clear Creek River.
