Pier 57 is a great tourist spot! It includes attractions such as Wings Over Washington (just like Soaring Over California at Disneyland, but Washington based!), The Seattle Great Wheel, shopping, arcades, and restaurants (Ivar's and Anthony's are the best for Seattle Seafood - get the clam chowder!). It is also walking distance to the Seattle Aquarium (at Pier 59).
The Seattle Aquarium is a go-to date spot for us! Maddie's favorite animal are octopus, and a Giant Pacific Octopus is always on display! They just opened a second building with a reef and jellyfish garden.
Pike Place Market is a Seattle staple. There are restaurants, fresh produce booths, book stores, and flower shops to walk around.
Western Washington is an amazing place to hike, and it is one of our favorite things to do! Some of favorite day hikes in the area include: Heather Lake - 5.0 miles roundtrip, 1,034 feet of gain (level: moderate) Lake 22 - 5.4 miles roundtrip, 1,350 feet of gain (level: moderate) Mt. Pilchuck - 5.4 miles roundtrip, 2,300 feet of gain (level: moderate/hard) Bridal Veil Falls - 4.0 miles roundtrip, 1,000 feet of gain (level: moderate) These are all relatively popular hikes and can all be done in a few hours! Make sure to bring snacks and water!
Lake Stevens is Maddie's hometown, and is the town bordering to the wedding venue. Some of her favorite local restaurants are: - Conto's: Italian food, and the BEST chicken caesar on the planet! - Ixtapa: Mexican food, SO good! - LJ's: The brussel sprouts are amazing! - Lundeen Coffee Co.: This is a MUST! Maddie has been going here since high school, and they still know her order when they see her car pull in!
