At this time, we have not been able to secure one. We encourage everyone to download Uber and Lift to be safe. We are working on alternatives, but are unsure of availability at this time.
YES! It is an indoor salt water pool. They also have a steam room.
Because of the liquor licenses they hold, we are not able to have our own alcohol in the lobby. For this reason, we have secured a discounted bar rate.
Social distance doesn’t equal social isolation. It means that everyone can be respectful of each other’s personal space, as you would any other time of year, and wash your hands. Full disclosure Norman and Cooper have no idea what this means- so expect to receive lots of puppy kisses, or pouting. Masks are not required, but if you feel more comfortable, by all means wear one.
That is strictly up to you, and how you’re planning on getting around. Uber can either be very cheap, or very expensive depending on time of day and availability. If there is space in our cars, you’re more than welcome to jump in with us, but please know our hotel is located 21 miles from Midway Airport and 26 Miles from OHare airport. There are no trains that go directly to the hotel (or surrounding area).
They have the option of renting their own room, or staying with you. We have no problems with them coming along to the city on Saturday, or hanging out with us along the way. However, our ceremony, and reception will be strictly invitation only, due to the current climate and local laws and mandates. If you are bringing your kids, we encourage you to bring a babysitter, as we are making no exceptions to our “no children” policy.
No. While we love Christmas, Santa will not be making an appearance at our reception.
YES! We have secured a flat fee of $25.00 for the entire weekend. If you want to bring your fur babies (and we hope you do!), you totally can! The only rules around this are, they must be leashed in common spaces (lobby, hallways, outside, etc), and you must let the front desk know when booking/arrival. Unfortunately they can’t be at our reception/ceremony, which is a bummer.
Covid-mania is playing an actual part in our decision, however we previously felt that our reception will reflect an adults only atmosphere. Your kids are more than welcome to join in on the rest of the weekend, and we look forward to seeing them there!
Hopefully everyone who can grow one. We are looking forward to both the contest (there will be a vote and a prize at the end of the night), and our kids asking about it in the future.
No.
Well, that depends. It’s winter in Chicago, so we would encourage our out of town guests to pack in warm layers, and bring a bathing suit. We expect to have lots of fun all over the city, and utilize the hotel pool shamelessly (if available). If you’re asking about the ceremony, we are choosing to fancy it up a little, and asking for formal attire. Suits, and long dresses are preferred. It’s been a while since most of our family have gotten really dressed up. We thought now would be the perfect time to do something fun and different from the regular business casual we’ve been seeing as a trend over the past few years. We are asking that no one wear white, jeans, or gym shoes to our ceremony.
Yes! Email us (@ mrandmrstylersmith@gmail.com) your email, and we’ll get you into the system, and create an online rsvp for you.
Not yet, they’re going in the mail this week. We love you- if you got a save the date you are getting an invitation. We will let you know if things change FOR ANY REASON. Don’t panic.
Yes. We will be using an app called “LoveCast”. We aren’t sure exactly how this will work but we do know you can access it through a phone and a computer. Check back with us for more details.
