we're getting married!

We first met in the summer of 2017 when Josh (and two of his groomsmen - Jimmy and Josh) were invited to play on the same co-ed basketball team that I was already playing on. Josh spoke an approximate 12 words to me over the course of several weeks, but I took his willingness to always pass me the ball as his clear adoration for me. I quickly found Josh endearing and kind and looked forward to games each week. After several failed attempts to hang out with Josh at our scheduled team outings (which he could never make it to because he was working his second job), Josh could finally make it out for one gathering in late October. He showed up in what I know now were size 40 waist jeans, a belt that cinched his pants around his actual size 34 waist, and a black v-neck tee. I wore heels, perfume and cut off shorts and there have hardly been any nights that we haven't spent together since.

Josh put so much thought and love into our proposal and pulled off one of the best days ever! He had my sister Jess tell me she wanted to do family photos down on the East End Beach in Portland, to which I thought absolutely nothing about. After having Jett, he just wanted to make sure I actually showered and wore something besides spandex. When we got down to the beach with my sister's family, everyone just stood around waiting for the photographer to arrive. When I turned around toward the water, Josh was on one knee with a ring in his hand, shaking and struggling to utter any words. Luckily he muttered "Will you marry me?" to which I responded (well, you're on our wedding website) "YES!" As we hugged, family and friends that had been hiding jumped up and cheered. His sister Sydnie was there to capture it all on camera, and we enjoyed champagne and (of course) music on the beach. Josh also arranged for a brunch with all our friends at Royal River Grille, and he had rented out our favorite dive bar, Howie's, for the rest of our close family and friends to join us in celebration later in the day. After we were engaged Josh said, "I'm so glad that's over and that you have to plan the wedding." We can't wait to see you all there!
