Our Love Story

Distance means so little, when someone means so much

Enzo and Sydney met all thanks to a Texas State Gold Parking Pass. That gold pass only allowed parking on Texas State campus over the weekend—and unless you timed dropping off your car at the gold lot with the bus schedule—you had a two-mile walk back to your dorm. On that particular Sunday evening, it was also storming. Thankfully, Enzo’s best friend was dating a girl with a green pass, who happened to be Sydney’s best friend. The girls agreed to pick the guys up in exchange for their company at dinner. From that night on, Sydney and Enzo’s respective friend groups spent nearly every day together, with Enzo’s dorm designated as the group hangout. Sydney and Enzo’s connection was quickly undeniable. Enzo taught her to make gum-wrapper hearts, walked her back to her dorm every night, and met her between classes any time he could. They got incredibly close on their first real date to Sydney’s formal. Attendance was much higher than anticipated, so Sydney spent the entire bus ride to San Antonio and back in Enzo’s lap! When they returned to campus in the spring, they called each other boyfriend and girlfriend, and took every new challenge of college together. When undergrad came to a close, Enzo had his sights set on a master's degree, while Sydney pursued an internship and then a job in Atlanta. The couple quickly got used to traversing airports and cherished every long weekend and holiday spent together, but life just wasn’t as colorful with 971 miles between them. Sydney decided she absolutely couldn’t go another day without Enzo, so he drove all 971 miles there and back to take everything he could from Sydney’s apartment back to Texas for her. After the longest few weeks ever, Sydney arrived on Enzo's door step with the rest, and they could not have been any happier. Although these two are inseparable, Sydney did have to make a few trips back to Atlanta due to her quick move. When Sydney was gone for a week in August, Enzo got to work preparing to propose. When Sydney arrived home from her trip, the house was eerily quiet. She opened the door, and immediately noticed rose petals, lucky pennies, and candles leading to Enzo down on one knee. Enzo told her he couldn’t let her leave the house again without knowing she was truly his, and when he popped the question, of course Sydney said yes! Now that it's time to make things official, your presence is humbly requested to help celebrate the future Silvagnis on their special day!
