We first met in July 2022 at an Organic Produce Conference in Monterey, California - sent by our managers as the only two Instacart reps attending. Neither of us was exactly thrilled about being “stuck” at a conference with someone we didn’t know - a feeling that didn’t last long. At our very first meal together, Kat even brought her laptop along, just in case we ran out of things to talk about. We soon found out that was never going to be an issue. Within minutes, Mason’s charm and quick wit had Kat laughing nonstop, and what started as a reluctant work trip quickly turned into something much more. From there, everything clicked. We discovered we’re almost birthday twins (Kat is two days older - and insists, wiser) and celebrated our first holidays together. By March 2023, Kat tried to teach Mason how to ski on his very first ski trip (though we learned the hard way that ski lessons exist for a reason). Fast forward to today, and Mason now skis black runs. That fall, we took our first trip to Europe together, confirming that we make a pretty great travel team. In May 2024, our family grew by two very important members when we adopted our cats, Walter and Jesse - who now run the household and keep us on our toes. What began as an unexpected pairing at a work conference turned into laughter, adventure, and a life we’re so excited to keep building together.
