WE'RE GETTING MARRIED!

So you want to know the story of Robert & Jazmin, huh? Well, to understand how we formed such a strong relationship, you have to go back 10 years to where Jaz and I first met each other - the YMCA. To be more specific, I got to know Jaz while working in the YMCA Child Watch department, and I’m sure we both have a million stories to share about that place, but we’ll save those for another day. Like any budding friendship, we first made awkward small talk; however, through lots of Starbucks White Chocolate Mochas, pranks (again, stories for another day), and random conversations, Jaz and I built an inseparable friendship. Ok…so although we were close friends ‘officially’, Rob and I would both be lying if we told you that we never flirted. In fact - it took roughly 6 years of subtle flirting for us to admit our feelings for each other. Saint Patrick’s day is an important day in this story, and not because it’s a day most Americans pretend they’re Irish. Saint Patrick’s Day is an important day to us because its when we finally admitted our feelings to each other. With the help of a few drinks, of course!

Fast forward a year, and on October 3rd, 2019, Rob surprised me with a trip to one of my favorite places, New York City! It wasn’t easy hiding the reason we were going to NYC from Jaz, but I managed to pull it off. After successfully arriving without a suspicion, I got down on one knee in battery park and asked Jaz to spend the rest of her life with me. While looking up at her, I saw Jaz was crying, and I wasn’t sure if that was because the rain had ‘ruined’ her hair, or if it was the moment hitting her; however, I knew one thing for sure - I would stay down on one knee as long as it took for this beautiful lady to say she’d be my wife. Seconds felt like years, but Jaz finally began repeating “YES,” and I instantly felt like the happiest man in the world. Being with Rob has been the wildest, most amazing adventure of my life -  we are both silly, goofy and crazy in love with each other. We definitely found our soul mates, and we are excited to go on this journey of life together.
