We wish we could invite everyone, but unfortunately we don’t have room for extra guests not listed on your invite. If this causes any trouble, just let us know and we will do our best to accommodate! That said, there is plenty of space at the wedding ceremony and mass at the church and we'd love to have them there!
As Catholics, we believe that the bread the priest blesses at Mass (the Eucharist) is Jesus' body, blood, soul and divinity offered for us under the appearance of bread and wine. Therefore, out of the deepest respect for Jesus present in the Eucharist, we ask that only actively practicing Catholics who believe in the true presence receive communion. However, if you are not a practicing Catholic or not in a state of grace to receive (we will offer confession before Mass), we invite you to come up during communion with your arms crossed over your chest and receive a blessing from the Priest, or remain in your pew.
Great question! As Catholics, we believe that marriage is a Sacrament between God and us as we are joined together for the rest of our lives. We also believe that the Holy Mass is sacred, and that God is truly present in the Eucharist (the bread after the priest blesses it) at every Mass. Having a Mass at our wedding, where the Lord is physically present, allows us to celebrate the Sacrament of matrimony to its fullest extent. We are so blessed to have you all be witnesses to this great gift! Out of respect for the Mass we ask that our guests are quiet and reverent when entering into the church and during the wedding Mass. We will have programs with all parts of the Mass written out, so we hope you can follow along and participate. We also would greatly appreciate your prayers for our marriage before, during and after the ceremony.
