This is one of Milwaukee's most trendy and vibrant neighborhoods, and one of the reasons we initially fell in love with the city. We have spent many afternoons simply strolling through the streets and stopping in the shops. An afternoon here will give you the experience of being surrounded by some of the Midwest's most fashionable and friendly folks.
Calling itself "A Modern General Store" is quite an understatement. Located in the heart of the Third Ward, this store offers a vast variety of plants, stationary, and many small but functional household items imbued with Milwaukee's character.
Located on the Milwaukee River, this restaurant and microbrewery is always busy and bustling with both locals and out of town visitors. When the weather is nice you can dine on the patio overlooking the water and watch the boats stroll by and the ducks on their daily commute.
This is one of Milwaukee's most iconic and popular themed restaurants, for good reason. It's inspired by a prohibition era speakeasy, filled with fun staff members who encourage you to play along. You'll laugh at yourself as you try to crack the code to sneak into the secret entrance and you'll be amazed at the tricks you witness by the bartender who performs magic nightly.
More than just a kitschy brand of beer, the Pabst Brewery is part of Milwaukee's roots as a brew city. We had the pleasure of spending the day on a tour here with Matt's brother Stew, an unforgettable experience. Adults are each encouraged to pick up a pint of beer at the beginning of their tour, groups are taken through a series of hallways and hideaways, and if you're lucky you'll hear stories of how the brewery is haunted!
