We’re Tying The Knot!

In February 2021, Vanessa was living in New York, and Cornelius, originally from Alabama, was living in San Diego. Vanessa had been feeling the pull back to California and planned a vacation to San Diego to explore and see if she could envision herself living there again. Fate had even bigger plans. The friend Vanessa chose to stay with had an unexpected “epiphany” and insisted she introduce her to her neighbor—Cornelius. The two connected instantly and finally met in person during Vanessa’s trip in March 2021. From the moment they met, it was undeniable: this was something special. Vanessa came to California searching for a place to call home, but instead, she found love—and a home—with Cornelius. From the very beginning, they bonded over their love for eclectic music, cooking, art, fashion, nature, thought-provoking conversations, and living a healthy lifestyle. Their connection was effortless, and as the years passed, their love has only grown stronger. In these four years together, they have supported each other’s growth, built a life filled with love and intention, and created a peaceful home—shared with their beloved malti-poo, Zola. Their relationship is a beautiful balance of laughter, deep conversations, cooking side by side as each other’s sous-chef, being each other's accountability partner, and one another's source of comfort. Now, surrounded by the love of their family and friends, they look forward to embracing a lifetime of milestones together—starting a family, creating memories, pursuing dreams, and deepening their love and connection for one another as they continue to grow side-by-side.
