Best Man
James and Andrew first met in Kindergarten...and hated each other. Until one fateful day in the fourth grade when Andrew decided to join the school band and learn trumpet (Nicole's favorite instrument, no matter what she says) and had a strange feeling James was joining the band, too. Andrew asked him at the cafeteria garbage cans what time band was at and they quickly became friends that year. 21 years later and his friend group has a really smooth rhythm, all orchestrated perfectly by James.
Matron of Honor
Lauren and Nicole met at Duke Divinity School in 2017. Their gifts complement each other in such a way that teachers and classmates knew that if one didn't have the answer, the other would. Lauren is Nicole's prayer partner, spiritual & mental confident, voice of reason, and the one who gave her the strength to answer Andrew's message. AKA her person. (Outside of Andrew of course)
Groomsman
Andrew and Tom first met at a Phi Mu Alpha meeting. Andrew had just become a brother and Tom was an alumni member who decided to pop into the meeting that night. After wondering immensely about Andrew's personal practices in music school, they soon found out they had a mutual love - church music. Tom is one of two people who did not abandon Andrew after Andrew left the school and despite never living close to one another, they remained close friends across multiple state lines and moves. Tom is Andrew's spiritual guide and they cannot be trusted around fire together in a church.
Bridesmaid
Nicole and Holly go as far back as the back of the classroom in freshman Algebra at Allied Health and Science. Holly has been Nicole's "sister" and her "ride or die" for as long as she can remember through the craziness of high school, college, and anyone Nicole dated. Holly's the one that made her realize that there was healing work to do before Nicole could even pretend to meet someone like Andrew. Nicole's clumsiness is no match for Holly's and has become something that drives them both crazy.
Groomsman
Andrew knew his sister would marry Brian from the moment he met him. It seems like he has always been part of the family. He has been through all of the ups and downs in the Maggs family, but has stuck by Eileen's side - and the rest of ours - through them all. He embodies what it means to be family.
Bridesmaid
According to Andrew, his sister, Eileen, gave her approval as Nicole stood by their side during a stressful and scary family moment. Nicole's knowledge of hospital systems helped Eileen feel at ease during a family emergency. She made Nicole feel like a welcome part of the family since the beginning, especially when Nicole didn't judge her shorts-and-Ugg-boots combo.
Groomsman
According to Nicole, her brother, Alex, knew Andrew was the one for her when Alex didn't get yelled at for ripping a fried pickle out of Nicole's mouth. With the two being equally quirky, Andrew only wishes they had known each other before Alex moved to North Carolina so they could have had a few years of bugging Nicole together.
Bridesmaid
Rachel has walked with Nicole since the beginning of her pastoring journey. Rachel helped Andrew pick out the ring and had Andrew and Nicole married to each other within weeks of their first date! In fact, when Andrew told Rachel he was looking at rings and wanted her opinion, her response was something akin to "AHHHHHHHHHHH 🎉🥳" followed by a whole paragraph-long description. So yeah. She's excited.
Groomsman
Robed monk impersonator and fellow nerd, Jesse was apart of Nicole's friend group before Andrew even met her, but accepted Andrew into that group immediately. Before even meeting Jesse, Andrew lost track of the number of times Nicole told him, "That's something Jesse would say." So, when they were planning their wedding party, Andrew couldn't imagine not having Jesse up there with him!
Bridesmaid
Alyssa became part of Nicole's inner circle as soon as Nicole moved back to New Jersey. They also met through the meddling of Jess, and also Jesse and Rachel! Alyssa has become a voice of logic, as well as a source of strength and support in all areas of life. She has become a sounding board for Nicole in all of life's problems, personal and systemic, and frequently roll their eyes at their respective "nerds."
Groomsman
Brian is family to Nicole, and so is family to Andrew. Always caring and an incredible story teller, there's never a boring moment when Brian is around. Andrew knew he was in when Brian gave him a cat and a rabbit to keep in his office and that was just one of the points when he realized just how much Brian cares.
Bridesmaid
Greer and Nicole met at a new church start in Fayetteville and became fast friends. They bonded over everything related to music and reading. Greer was there for Nicole when she needed a friend the most and became family soon after that.
Groomsman
Nathaniel is one of the quasi-nephews that Nicole inherited when Brian and Greer became family. His love for Star Wars, "dad-jokes," and music match Andrew's perfectly. They especially love ruining beloved songs for others.
Bridesmaid
Rosalyn has been like a niece to Nicole since she and Greer became friends. Nicole and Rosalyn bonded over soccer, tough middle school moments, music, and reading. Nicole has been honored to watch her grow into the young adult that she is.
Jr. Groomsman
Connor is Andrew's oldest nephew and fellow Giants fan. The two have been close since Connor was born, with Andrew - or Uncle Andoly - teaching him how to play the drums and use Pro Tools since he was an infant. Nicole loved him and saw him as her own nephew from the minute she met him and Connor is so excited to have a new aunt!
Ring Bearer
Cooper is Andrew's youngest nephew who immediately decided that Nicole was his permanent playmate. Andrew was only a little younger than Cooper when he met his Uncle Steve and can't remember a time without him. Nicole is now Cooper's "Uncle Steve" and the couple is so excited to have him be a part of this special day!
Officiant
Jess is the reason we're all getting together. She is the one who saw two young clergy people who were looking for someone to do life with. She called them out on their ridiculous opinions of dating other clergy and finagled the truth so that they could find their way. Andrew and Nicole are grateful to be a recipient of Jess's meddling and are honored that she is a big part of their special day.
