Known for their award-wining donuts, we highly recommend starting your morning by picking up a glazed donut and strolling around downtown and the nearby churches.

Located in the St. James Hotel, this is our go-to restaurant in Red Wing with a lovely patio and a great view of the train and Mississippi River.

What's a trip to Red Wing without stopping to see the giant boot?

He Mni Can/ Barn Bluff Trail Head

There are several options for hiking to the top of this bluff, after which you'll be rewarded with panoramic views of the town, river, and neighboring bluffs.

Sorins Bluff

For those who don't want to hike but would still like a view, drive to the top of Sorin's Bluff and stroll around Memorial Park for similar panoramic views to Barn Bluff.

Doghouse Books and Reading Room

128 South Washington Street, Lake City, MN 55041

John's mom, Alex, opened up a bookstore in Lake City as an extension of her highly esteemed Doghouse Bookmobile that started last year at the Lake City Farmer's Market. Used books and products from a variety of local vendors are available to buy, and everyone is allotted one free book per week. All proceeds go to the Doghouse Bookmobile for purchasing more books!
