Most who know the Bride & Groom know how they came to be together but some don’t know the full story so here it goes. Melissa started working for the Town of Pownal on January 1, 2017. It was there that she met Ben who had worked for the Town for many years at that point. Melissa spent the next year believing Ben was mad at her or always angry so she kept her distance. Finally, on a random Friday afternoon and she happened to be in the office finishing up some reports when Ben came in and started talking to her. It was then she realized he wasn’t mad or angry at all just very quiet. They became friends and started talking to each other quite often. After a series of unfortunate events Melissa and Ben found themselves being consoled by one another it was that moment the spark ignited. From then on they were inseparable. They have been together for 2 years that feels like a lifetime for them. They have been on many adventures together including skydiving, white water rafting, float plane ride, motorcycle rides, random drives to Northern Maine, exploring islands and their favorite adventure of all the birth of their son Axel Jameson Porter on August 5, 2020. They are so extremely excited to finally tie the knot and become husband and wife to continue their lifetime of adventures together!

Now, just because the couples love story ended in being inseparable does not mean both of them were looking for the ring. Actually, Melissa was very adamant that she was not going to get married. She had been engaged once before and did not want to subject herself to another prolonged engagement. Ben himself had been engaged a few times as well but he was still determined to have his happily ever after. The couple would banter back and forth about it. Finally, Melissa made the decision she loved Ben so much SHE would either need to ask Ben to marry her when she was ready to do so or Ben would need to catch her completely off guard. WELL... He did just that. December 4, 2019 as they were settling in to go to bed watching some TV he completely caught her off guard as he popped the question. She had to pause a moment because she couldn't believe he was actually asking. After asking him "why" and several other questions she said YES!

Most everyone knows the story after the proposal. Just in case you missed it. December 4th the couple got engaged. December 15th the couple found out they were expecting. On Easter the couple announced they were expecting a little boy. On August 5, 2020 at 2:50am the couple welcomed their son Axel Jameson (AJ) Porter into the world weighing 6lbs 2oz 19inches long! He is their entire world and cannot wait to become one unified family along with their two fur Rottweiler kids Nova & Odin <3.
