It all started in March of 2024 on a slow day at Lululemon, where Erin was working and Justin came in to shop. Being an attentive employee (and thinking Justin was cute) Erin made her way across the store to help him. Their conversation, although revolving around men’s running shorts and Justin’s sizing, was playful and filled with Justin’s jokes. Erin noticed how joyful and genuine he was, and she didn’t want their interaction to end. Before leaving, Erin rang Justin up and they ended up talking about their plans for the rest of the day, including Justin going to a run club held in Erin’s neighborhood. Justin mentioned that she should join sometime, but thinking that he was just being friendly and knowing that she was by no means a runner, Erin laughed off the invite. After he left, Erin couldn’t stop thinking about Justin and couldn’t help but look him up. She knew it would take her a few days to gain the courage to reach out, but before she had the chance God brought them back together in His perfect timing. And despite Erin getting out of going to run club on the day they met, she was unsuccessful the second time around, and that ended up being their first date!
On June 14th, the day after their friends Justin and Megan’s wedding, Justin asked Erin the biggest question of their lives. The timing was intentional. Friends and family have always been at the center of their relationship, and this was a rare moment when so many of them were gathered together in one place. Erin had no idea it was coming, which made the surprise even sweeter. In the months leading up to that day, Justin worked hard to keep everything under wraps. He never asked Erin about ring or proposal preferences so as not to create suspicion. With the help of her maid of honor, Christiana, the ring design came together perfectly, while her roommates Abby and Alyssa secretly helped figure out the sizing. Choosing the perfect spot wasn’t easy. They’d shared so many great memories, but most of their “spots” were either their favorite restaurant (Red Headed Stranger) or the movie theater—not exactly proposal material. After a lot of thought, Justin found the perfect place: a quiet spot nestled right on top of the Cumberland River with the Nashville skyline as the backdrop. To pull off the surprise, he enlisted Erin’s friend Emily (who had recently gotten into photography and shot with Erin and some other close friends). Emily invited Erin and her friends to what she thought was a last minute photo shoot to plump up Emily’s photography portfolio. Erin showed up fully convinced she was just there for a few cute headshots with her friends, until she realized the shoot was really just the cover for a life-changing moment. And there, with the skyline behind them and their closest friends and family nearby, Justin asked Erin to marry him… she said yes!
