FAQs

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

The dress code for our wedding is Black Tie Optional. Ladies: Formal cocktail attire is appropriate (long dresses/dressy jumpsuits preferred). Gentlemen: Black tie is appropriate (tuxedos/dark suits and ties preferred). If you wear jeans to our wedding, you will be publicly shamed and Jeffrey will likely boo at you until you leave.

Question

Are my children invited?

Answer

While we love your little ones, to allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our special day adults only. We hope you use it as a date night out! If you show up with your kids anyways, they will be put to work. Hopefully they can carry a full tray of drinks.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’re so excited to celebrate with our closest family and friends! Due to space constraints, we’re only able to extend plus ones to those listed on the invitation. Please check your invitation or RSVP details to see if a guest is included. Thank you for understanding! If you ask if you can bring your latest Tinder date, Jeffrey will likely say yes "for the plot." This does not mean this was communicated to anyone, the headcount was likely not accounted for, and they will have to stand outside. We do not anticipate rain.

Question

Is there parking at the venue?

Answer

There is a parking structure next to the Renaissance Center on Renaissance Drive, a short 4 minute walk from the venue. If you do not wish to park in the structure, we recommend using Lyft or Uber.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

The wedding will primarily take place indoors. Our ceremony and reception will take place inside the Port Detroit, with cocktail hour being hosted outside (weather permitting).

Question

Will you have an unplugged ceremony?

Answer

Yes! We have found an exceptional photographer to capture our day, so please keep all cameras, phones, and ipads (looking at you, mom) away during our ceremony. We will happily share our professional images with you after the wedding!
