5:30 pm - 6:30 pm
Attire: Please wear comfortable shoes (leave the stilettos at home!) Getting to the church will involve walking briefly up a gravel road.
Please join us for the wedding ceremony at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church which was built by Irene's grandmother and her brother. It is a charming, small church and the wedding ceremony will take place directly in front of it (outdoors). Please keep in mind it will be hot outside at this time and this is a completely outdoor ceremony in a rather remote location-- if you are very sensitive to heat feel free to sit this one out and we will see you at the reception! Shuttle busses will pick up guests from designated spots in town (to be announced). If you miss the shuttle or wish to take a taxi, please be advised it is off the beaten path so we will provide a directions sheet you can use to navigate there.
7:00 pm
Attire: Formal
Following our ceremony at the church, we will have the shuttle busses take guests directly to the reception venue for cocktails. We hope you can join us for an unforgettable evening of traditional food, music and dancing! It can get slightly cooler at night if you would like to bring a shawl. The reception will last until the early hours of the morning. There will be an "early" and "late" shuttle leaving from the venue to go back into town. If those times do not work, taxis can be called.
12:00 pm
The wedding party, family and friends are all welcome to join us in a friends-moon in Cyprus. We will be departing from Crete on Sunday, July 2nd and will fly into Larnaca Airport. We will be staying in the Protaras area for the week, visiting all the beautiful beaches in the area, eating traditional Cypriot mezze, and making an excursion to the Kykkos monastery, but you are welcome to explore other parts of the island as well (recommend Pafos!). All are welcome to join! Please RSVP if you are planning to come to Cyprus and include your email/phone so we can contact you. We will be staying in the Protaras/Ayia Napa area. We encourage everyone to book hotels or Airbnbs/VRBO as soon as possible as these will book up rapidly. We will be in touch about any group events (beach, monastery trip, traditional Cypriot dinner).
