Question

What are your COVID-19 vaccination requirements?

Answer

Thankfully, vaccines are allowing us to have our wedding (finally)! To ensure our celebrations are safe, we ask that all guests in attendance be fully vaccinated prior to our wedding date. While we will not be requiring proof of vaccination, we hope you will respect our decision and politely decline your RSVP if you are not fully vaccinated. There are a few reasons we made this decision. Although vaccines are highly effective, they are not 100% effective. Thus, proximity to unvaccinated individuals introduces more risk for others in attendance. Having all attendees vaccinated will allow us to feel confident that there is a low risk of COVID-19 infections resulting from our gatherings. We hope this helps to create an enjoyable, safe atmosphere for all. In these difficult times, we sincerely appreciate the empathy and grace you have provided us as we prioritize health and safety. If you have any questions or concerns whatsoever, please reach out to us at pelechwedding2021@gmail.com.

Question

Will you be requiring masks?

Answer

We are monitoring the local and CDC mask requirements for vaccinated individuals. Currently, masks are not required in Illinois for those attending gatherings with only vaccinated individuals, so we do not require that masks be worn at our wedding. If the local or CDC requirements change prior to our wedding, we will modify our mask requirements, as necessary. Please check this page prior to the wedding to stay up to date. To be safe and prepared in Chicago, we encourage everyone to always carry a mask with you.

Question

Will you be providing masks?

Answer

We will not provide masks unless the local or CDC requirements change. Please check this page prior to the wedding for the latest requirements.

Question

What if I’m vaccinated but don’t feel comfortable attending large gatherings?

Answer

We 100% understand those who are not yet comfortable attending a large gathering, especially with the uncertainty surrounding the variants. Your presence will certainly be missed but we would never want our friends and family to put themselves in an uncomfortable situation.

Question

What if I already RSVP’d “yes” but had a possible COVID exposure, am symptomatic, or don’t feel comfortable attending a large gathering anymore?

Answer

Please do not attend our wedding festivities if you had a possible exposure or are feeling symptomatic in any capacity! While your presence will be missed, we need to prioritize everyone’s health and safety. We completely understand if comfort levels change regarding large gatherings, especially with the uncertainty surrounding the COVID variants. Please reach out to us at pelechwedding2021@gmail.com if you have already RSVP’d but are now unable to attend.

Question

What time should I arrive for the ceremony?

Answer

Doors open at the Adler Planetarium at 6pm and the ceremony will start promptly at 6:30pm.

Question

Are children invited to the wedding?

Answer

While we love and adore your kids, we have decided the wedding festivities (rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, and wedding) will be adults-only. However, if you have received an invitation to brunch on Saturday morning, your children are more than welcome to come!

Question

If I don’t want to stay at the Fairmont hotel block, where should I book a hotel?

Answer

The Adler Planetarium is very centrally-located in downtown Chicago so there are numerous hotels at all price points within just a mile or two. We are offering a free shuttle service from the Fairmont hotel to/from the wedding for all guests, even if you aren’t staying at the Fairmont. We recommend a hotel close by to take advantage of the shuttle services. Please see the “Hotel/Parking/Shuttle” tab for more information.
