Travel Information
When Should I Arrive in Wilmington? If you want to save vacation days (Shortest Trip): Fly in on Friday and fly home on Sunday. If you want to tour the battleship, see historic downtown, go to the beach, or tour many famous movie filming sites, then arrive on Thursday and/or leave on Monday to give yourself an extra day to check out the area. If you want to help setup (Not Required): We are setting up and prepping food on Friday, so fly to Wilmington on Thursday to be available on Friday. Text us to coordinate. If you want to help tear down (Not Required): We are tearing everything down and finishing cleanup on Monday, so return flight on Monday night or Tuesday. Text us to coordinate.
Flight
Wilmington International Airport (ILM)
2/7 Update: Consider getting a cheaper and direct flight into the Raleigh-Durham airport (RDU) and making the 2 hour drive to Wilmington. Flights into ILM are getting expensive as we get closer to the dates. You'll need to rent a car or share a rental with others. Wilmington International Airport (ILM) is the closest airport, if you're flying in. The airport is less than 10 minutes to hotels downtown and 15 minutes to the ceremony location. We recommend booking flights as soon as possible before they get more expensive. If flying into ILM there will be a layover flying from SeaTac. Rental Car
Budget Car Rental
Priceline (Linked Below) shows rental cars available at the Wilmington Airport. Budget typically has the cheapest cars and can be picked up and dropped off from the airport rental area. Pricing ranges from about $130 for Friday - Sunday up to about $250 for Thursday - Monday depending on your travel plans. As people flying in start to RSVP, I will try to connect people who can share a car to save money. Ubers and Lyfts to and from the airport are about $25 and rides around town are about $10. If you are using Lyft / Uber to get around plan to spend about $75 to $100.
Hotel
Front Street Inn
We recommend staying in the downtown area. Front Street Inn (Linked Below) is mid priced, has rooms full of character, a coffee shop, a bar, and free on-site parking. We don't have a reservation block at a hotel because we don't think there will be enough people flying in to meet the minimum number of rooms. There are many alternative and cheaper options in the area you can find on google maps hotel search. We recommend you stay around the downtown area so you're close to the wedding and good food. The hotel that is cheapest and closest to the ceremony and reception is the Holiday Inn at 839 Medical Center Drive, Wilmington, NC, 28401 for about $125 per night as of 2/11/25.
