Question

Where is the venue?

Answer

Our venue is the Maas Building at 1325 N. Randolph St. Philadelphia, PA 19122. This will be the same venue for both the ceremony and the reception. The venue is in northeast Philly in the Olde Kensington neighborhood.

Question

How can we get there?

Answer

There is lots of street parking near the venue. However, we have reserved the school parking lot directly across the street from the main entrance on Randolph St. Be advised that the entrance to our event is through the rear courtyard on North 5th Street (on the left 1/3 of the way up the block). Our venue is also accessible by Philadelphia public transit (a 3 block walk from the Girard and 5th Street stop on the 15 Trolley).

Question

Is the building wheelchair accessible?

Answer

Unfortunately, our venue does not have an elevator or ramps. The cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing will all take place on the ground floor and courtyard of the venue. Our ceremony location is up one flight of stairs, and restrooms up 2 steps and down a corridor.

Question

Can I bring children?

Answer

Yes! Children are welcome at our celebration. We will have activities for them to play in the courtyard. Be advised that there will be an open fire in the courtyard fire pit starting at 8pm (with s'mores, of course).

Question

Who is in the wedding party?

Answer

Because we are having a Quaker ceremony, we are not having a bridal party or grooms-people. Everyone in the community contributes to the strength of our relationship.

Question

Where should I sit during the ceremony?

Answer

We do not have spousal sides-- the joining of our families means creating one whole community. Feel free to seat yourselves wherever else you fancy.

Question

I've never been to a Quaker wedding before. How can I keep up with what's going on during the ceremony?

Answer

This is new for us, too. Worry not! We will come together in community to celebrate love in a structured way. There is an outline of what to expect on our WEDDING SCHEDULE page under "Ceremony". There will also be programs the day of enumerating the events of the wedding ceremony in detail.
