After graduating college, Steve and his family took a much needed trip to southeast Asia. Unfortunately, Steve had to leave his family in Asia and come back stateside to start preparing for a new job in Wisconsin. While packing up in Arizona and getting ready to face the harsh Midwest winters, Steve was invited to the Sy house for dinner by the Visicos - mutual family friends. That is when Marion met Steve for the first time, and they instantly clicked. It wouldn't be for a few years until Steve moved back to Arizona that things got a little more interesting.

During the peak of the Covid quarantine, Slander, an EDM duo group, held a livestream event. When Marion watched this, she could not stop thinking of Steve even though they had not spoken in some time. Ultimately, she could not ignore her feelings so she reached out. What started out as casual hangouts and bonding over music turned into something serious as they realized they both had feelings for each other. Steve finally got the strength to ask Marion to be his girlfriend (best decision he ever made). Since then, the couple has enjoyed going to music festivals, traveling, playing video games, and grocery shopping together. They are also the proud dog parents of Wally and Lola.
