Maid of Honor
Katie has been Kelly’s best friend since day one — a bond that started with years of fully committed pretending-to-be-cats (method acting level, concerning to adults) and somehow evolved into screaming every lyric together at more Coheed and Cambria concerts than anyone should reasonably attend. They’ve always had that can’t-stop-laughing kind of silly. But they’ve also walked through the hardest season of their lives side by side, losing their mom and holding each other up when it mattered most. Now Katie is a total badass nurse, saving lives by day and still managing to be an amazing sister and friend by night. Kelly promises — Katie is definitely the funnier sister.
Best Man
Alex’s dad, best friend, and now Best Man. Eric is the one who taught Alex about motorcycles, boats, and nurtured his sense of adventure. If it has wheels, floats, or comes with extra parts, chances are they’ve taken it apart together (and usually put it back together… mostly). Beyond the engines and tools, Eric has always been the steady hand and open ear Alex can count on — the first call for advice, encouragement, or a good laugh. Their bond is built on shared projects, shared stories, and a whole lot of love — plus just enough horsepower to keep things interesting.
Bridesmaid
Elyse has been Kelly’s best friend since kindergarten — the kind of friendship that grew up side by side, with Kelly practically living at her house all through high school. They share the same dark, slightly unhinged sense of humor and can spend hours on the phone talking about everything and nothing. Elyse has always been steady, consistent, and completely non-judgmental — no matter the phase. Kelly still misses the nights they’d dress like emos and watch overly dramatic movies as if they were the main characters. Through every season, Elyse has always been there and Kelly is eternally grateful.
Groom
Friends since Alex’s very first job out of college and longtime partner in distraction. From getting in trouble for talking too much at the CNC machine to staying up way too late playing video games online, they’ve covered a lot of ground (and probably missed a little sleep). Neal’s always down for sushi, a good catch-up, and picking up right where they left off — no matter how much time has passed. Some friendships start at work and stay there; this one definitely didn’t.
Bridesmaid
Megan has been Kelly’s best friend since middle school — which means she has witnessed some truly questionable eras. Living on AIM, debuting fresh Hollister outfits as if paparazzi were waiting at Eastgate Mall, and writing dissertations about boys who absolutely did not deserve that level of analysis. Somehow they grew up, drifted, and then reconnected — only to realize they’re still the same people, just with better taste in sushi and worse taste in television. Nothing says mature adulthood like ordering sushi and watching Naked Attraction while providing live commentary no one asked for. Through every chaotic phase, Megan has been profoundly caring, wildly loyal, and the kind of friend who shows up fully — whether it’s for a life crisis or a terrible TV marathon.
Groom
Groomsman and adventure buddy. He and Alex bonded over motorcycles, camper vans, and the shared belief that weekends are best spent somewhere outdoors (preferably slightly off the grid). Whether it’s working on a motorcycle, RC cars, or talking about conspiracy theories, Chris is always in.
Flower Girl
Av’yah is Kelly’s little sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters of America, but in reality she’s just the cooler, funnier, and more confident version of Kelly. She is always ready for something fun — skating, getting their nails done, or whatever adventure they come up with next. Av’yah has amazing style, and she even picked out her own flower girl dress, which honestly is not surprising because her fashion sense is already better than most adults. There is a very strong chance she will steal the show at the wedding and Kelly fully expects it — and honestly wouldn’t want it any other way.
Officiant
Officiant, longtime friend, and former roommate of mad anthony “Clubhouse.” Alex has known Danny since high school, and lived together in the northside house that became the go-to meeting spot before Tuesday bike nights. If there was a plan (or even half a plan), Danny was in. From surprise weddings to spontaneous nights out, he’s always been ready for whatever story comes next. After years of being part of each other’s lives, it only makes sense that Danny is the one to make this wedding official.
Wedding Planner
Terri, the mother of the groom, didn’t just help plan this wedding—she executed it. If something needed done, Terri had already done it, double-checked it, and probably made a backup plan. We’re convinced if the venue had fallen apart, she would’ve simply built a new one by morning. She gets things done, no questions asked. But what means even more is how she showed up for Kelly when she was missing her own mom. In the middle of all the planning, Terri quietly filled that space with kindness, hugs, and steady support. Today we’re so grateful Alex got his determination from her and that Kelly got an extra mom along the way.
Ring Bearer
Remi is five years old, obsessed with Spider-Man, and Kelly’s official best friend. The two of them spend their time playing, laughing, and getting into just enough chaos while still being responsible. He is incredibly smart, surprisingly mature, and somehow both five and thirty at the same time. Kelly and Alex fully trust him to guard the rings with his life — mostly because if anyone tried to take them, he’d probably use his Spider-Man skills to stop them. Honestly, the rings have never been safer. 🕷️
Father of the Bride
Dan and Kelly have spent most of their lives doing two things: debating politics and laughing at their own jokes. He gave her great taste in music, a sharp sense of humor, and the confidence to always speak her mind. More importantly, he has always been her biggest supporter, the person she could call for advice, comfort, or just to feel like everything would be okay. Dan has shown her what steady, unconditional love looks like, and that’s something she will carry into her marriage. He gets the honor of walking her down the aisle, but really he’s just passing the job of listening to her strong opinions on to Alex. Luckily, Alex has been training for this.
