Wedding Party

Meet the friends and family who will stand beside us as we say "I do"

Alexis Folkertsma

Maid of Honor

Alexis is Lauren's best friend whom she met on the very first day of college. They have been inseparable since they met and they even will get mistaken for each other. Alexis's favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, "Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.". Alexis has countless memories with Lauren that she treasures, however, one of her favorites is the infamous haunted car wash story, if you see one of them make sure you stop and ask them about it.

Anna Brandon

Maid of Honor

Anna Brandon is Lauren's childhood best friend. She has been with Lauren through thick and thin and is the definition of a true friend. Anna and Lauren have spent countless nights dreaming and talking about their future husbands and wedding day, and Anna is honored to play a significant role in Lauren's wedding! Anna's favorite Bible verse is 53:5. "But he was pierced for our transgressions, he was crushed for our iniquities; the punishment that brought us peace was on him, and by his wounds, we are healed." Anna's favorite memory with Lauren is all the countless times Anna graciously went along with Lauren's schemes which resulted in priceless funny memories. She especially loves the time Lauren and she went on a college road trip with their moms and shared many laughs.

Grace Freeman

Bridesmaid

Grace and Lauren met at Dallas Baptist University and instantly were inseparable. They share the same humor, which can sometimes cause them to get into trouble, in a good way. Grace's favorite Bible verse is Proverbs 3:5-6, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths." Grace's favorite memory with Lauren is the time they got trapped in a bathroom together which lead to a series of unfortunate, but very funny, events taking place. This is just one of the many priceless memories Grace and Lauren have had together.

Joyce Garcia

Bridesmaid

Joyce has been one of Lauren's closest friends since high school. Joyce and Lauren bonded over their love for fashion and adventure. Joyce's favorite Bible verse is 1 Corinthians 13:13, “So now faith, hope, and love abide, these three; but the greatest of these is love.” Joyce's favorite memory with Lauren is one of the first times they ever hung out, which was babysitting Crosby! Lauren had invited Joyce over to help babysit, and although it was a very long day, they bonded the whole time they were together! Some of Joyce's best memories with Lauren have been the most spontaneous and impromptu, but Lauren never fails to make each one memorable!

Emily Taylor

Bridesmaid

Emily is Lauren's big in her sorority and has been her roommate at Dallas Baptist. Emily's friendship has been a huge blessing to Lauren. Emily's favorite Bible verse is Micah 6:8, "He has told you, O man, what is good; and what does the Lord require of you but to do justice, and to love kindness, and to walk humbly with your God." Emily's favorite memory with Lauren is all the countless nights they shared as roommates. However, Emily's favorite memory is the big little reveal where she got to surprise Lauren with her being her big. They spent the night with their sorority family where they all had a sweet time bonding.

Beth Hollin

Bridesmaid

Beth is Lauren's sister-in-law. Beth was added to the Hollin family in 2020 when marrying Lauren's oldest brother Joshua Hollin. Beth is someone Lauren looks up to and values highly. Beth's favorite Bible verse: Acts 5:39, “But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God." Beth's favorite memory with Lauren was her first Barrett Family Reunion! "Josh wasn’t able to be there for the whole trip so Lauren went out of her way to make me feel welcomed, included, and comfortable. From the car ride up there, blasting Bruno Mars over and over, to the day on the boats where Lauren was terrified of everything in the water, Lauren made the whole experience so much fun and a trip I’ll never forget." Beth is excited to stand by Lauren's side on their big day!

Jackson Moyers

Best Man

Jackson is Grant's middle brother. Growing up 20 months apart meant that they did just about everything together, and competed against each other in everything. As the two brothers grew up and went to Samford together, they are now closer than ever. Jackson's favorite verse is Matthew 5:16, "In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in Heaven." Jackson's favorite memory with Grant was a weekend trip to Birmingham after Grant graduated from Samford. Grant came down for a boys golf weekend with Luke and Jackson, and the three played golf at Ross Ridge. The three had a great time reminiscing about their time together at college, eating at their favorite restaurants, and enjoying each other's company. Jackson described it almost as if he and Grant were "living together away from home."

Luke Hughes

Best Man

Luke was Grant's college roommate and best friend. The two were inseparable as they shared the same major, dorm room, and golf course each weekend. The two friends bonded over time spent on the golf course, their love of SEC football, and great food. Luke's favorite verse is John 3:16, "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. Luke's favorite memory with Grant was the 2021 football SEC championship game in Atlanta. Luke received tickets from a friend and invited Grant to watch the Georgia bulldawgs play the Alabama Crimson tide in the SEC championship. The two friends, now opponents, decided to make a weekend of it. The two friends drove over Friday night, where Grant showed Luke one of his favorite Italian restaurants before exploring downtown Atlanta on Saturday. Although Alabama won the game, the game experience and weekend will forever be a fond memory for both Grant and Luke.

Jacob Moyers

Groomsman

Jacob is Grant's youngest brother. Although 5 years apart, the two looked nearly identical. Jacob was dubbed by many as "mini-Grant" throughout their childhood. Despite the age, they have always been close and enjoyed playing basketball, video games, and watching football together. Jacob's favorite verse is Romans 12:2, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will." Jacob's favorite memory with Grant is their time playing basketball on the driveway. They talk about life, school, football, and everything else while playing and can just enjoy each others company. The two have always had a lot in common growing up and enjoy how easy it is to talk to one another.

Brooks Gaylard

Groomsman

Brooks and Grant met through Luke during Grant's freshman year at Samford, and the three quickly became close. After living together for two years, Brooks and Grant bonded over late-night Wii golf, actual golf on the weekends, and always being there for each other. Brooks' favorite Bible verse is Philippians 4:13, "I can do all things through him who gives me strength." Brooks' favorite memory with Grant is actually before Brooks even got to college. During Brooks' senior year in high school and Grant's freshman year of college, Grant and Luke snuck Brooks into Samford's annual Beeson Ball. The three friends spent the evening exploring the McWane's Science Center, driving through downtown Birmingham, and stopping for a late-night Waffle house.

Hayden Hollin

Groomsman

Hayden is Lauren's middle brother and Grant's oldest friend. Hayden and Grant met in elementary school and have kept in touch despite Grant moving from Texas to Tennessee, visiting each other and spending spring break together in college. Hayden's favorite verse is II Timothy 1:7, "For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind." Hayden's favorite memory with Grant is an extremely early morning airport drop-off after spring break. After forgetting to take pictures during our first and second spring breaks together, we asked a random lady to take our picture at the airport. Ironically, the lady thought we were a same-sex couple. Through laughs, Hayden and I managed to take the picture. Looking back now, the story behind that picture is even more memorable.

Joshua Hollin

Groomsman

Josh is Lauren's oldest brother and married Beth Hollin in 2020. He has been a friend and advisor to Grant during his relationship with Lauren. Josh's favorite Bible verse is Romans 12:1-2, "I appeal to you therefore, brothers, by mercies of God, to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and acceptable to God, which is your spiritual worship. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect." Josh's favorite memory with Grant was during the Hollin family summer beach vacation in 2022. While at the beach, everyone went to play mini-golf one night after dinner and the game quickly became competitive. By the end of the round, Josh ended up beating Grant but left room for a much-anticipated future rematch. Outcome aside, Josh and Grant enjoy playing games, because they can enjoy the competition, conversation, and friendship.
