Lauren and Grant met as little kids in Texas for one of the many play dates Lauren's older brother, Hayden, would have with Grant. Flash forward many years later, after the Moyers family moved from Texas to Tennessee, Grant and Hayden kept in touch for all those years. The long-distance friends texted and facetimed, and after hitting the college years, they wanted to spend their spring breaks together. For Grant's freshman spring break in 2019, he came to Dallas to visit Hayden, and this is the first time Lauren remembers meeting Grant. That week Lauren texted her high school friends, gushing about the cute tall blonde boy who would be staying the week at her house. While this trip was not as memorable for Grant, it was for Lauren. Her small crush on Hayden's friend began and so did her prayers for him to one day notice her. The following spring break of 2020, Grant returned to Dallas, and while his motivation was to spend time with Hayden, his heart changed during the middle of the week. Late Tuesday night, Grant initiated a conversation with Lauren that lasted until into the night and early morning. This conversation brought the realization to Grant and Lauren that they lined up on important issues and were a lot alike. From that night forward the rest was history, Grant eventually asked Lauren to be his girlfriend and now his fiance. While the past two years of long-distance have not been easy, they are counting down the days when they say "I do" to each other and never have to share a tearful goodbye at the airport.
