We met while performing in a local theater's production of Matilda. We were cast as love interests: the Acrobat and the Escapologist. When we had to kiss in rehearsal for the first time, Emily swerved to avoid it. Jack thought she hated him, but in reality, she thought he was REALLY cute and didn't want him to know! (Flawed logic Emily..) The whole cast knew that the two of us had a crush on the other, and played matchmaker throughout the rehearsal process (Theresa and Lindsey especially). When COVID canceled the first weekend of the performance, we decided to go on our first date. At the end of that first date, Emily did not swerve to avoid our first real kiss, and the rest is history! We have performed together in numerous shows, but always hold a soft spot for our first: Matilda.
