Things To Do

The Wedding Website of Amanda Shiver and Alexander Mickenberg
As you will see from this list... we spend most of our time outside walking and eating! Lakeland is one of the best places to be. The people are kind, generous, and friendly. Support local while you're here because it's way better than anything you can can find elsewhere! You'll probably fall in love if you stay too long. ;)

Lake Morton

Lakeland, FL 33801

Lake Morton has tons of beautiful swans, ducks, and birds of all types. It's a wonderful place to sit by the lake and enjoy downtown Lakeland.

Bonnet Springs Park

400 Bonnet Springs Boulevard, Lakeland, FL 33815

Bonnet Springs is the newest park in Lakeland and it is so peaceful to walk. This is the perfect place to unplug and soak in nature. 10+ miles of walking trails!

Adams Estate

2222 West Pierce Street, Lake Alfred, FL 33850

This is where our wedding is being held and the Lake is the absolute BEST PLACE TO WATCH A SUNSET! Hopefully we will all get a chance to do just that on Friday evening (pray for amazing weather with us, please!). We love it at Adams Estate. It is so peaceful. God is present.

Nineteen61

215 East Main Street, Lakeland, FL 33801

This is our favorite restaurant in all of Lakeland. We've created some special memories here over the last two years and the food is fantastic!

Palace Southside

4780 Florida Avenue South, Lakeland, FL 33813

This hole-in-the-wall Italian restaurant is our favorite. The South Side location has a better menu and delicious dishes. This was the first place that came to mind when we were planning food for the wedding. We went a different route, but we hope you'll visit while you're in town! The owners are SO NICE.

Born & Bread Bakehouse

1113 Florida Avenue South, Lakeland, FL 33803

There is a reason local Lakelanders stand in line for hours to eat here! We can't even pick a favorite because it's all incredibly delicious! Pro tip: Order online the night before and then pick it up at the window. You can still stay to eat and enjoy the atmosphere!

The Joinery

640 East Main Street, Lakeland, FL 33801

This is one of our favorite places to hang with a crowd. There is food of all types and all affordable. The brisket at the BBQ spot is the best we've EVER eaten and the quesadillas at the Mexican spot are to die for. Sit outside! Go hungry!

Scout & Tag

244 North Kentucky Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801

Best place for local, Lakeland shopping!

Lakeland Downtown Farmers Curb Market

117 North Kentucky Avenue, Lakeland, FL 33801

The farmer's market is every Saturday morning in downtown Lakeland and it is absolutely wonderful! Highly, highly, highly recommend!

SUN 'n FUN Expo Campus

4075 James C. Ray Drive, Lakeland, FL 33811

The largest airshow and expo in the country is happening on Saturday & Sunday of our wedding weekend. Look for the Blue Angels in the sky!
