Meghan added Miguel on Linkedin, as a means to expand professional relationships since they both attended St. Francis College (but studied different majors). Shortly thereafter, Miguel messaged Meghan on Instagram (they were already following each other) saying he accepted the friend request and that if Meghan needed anything, to reach out. After about a month of talking on Instagram, Meghan and Miguel agreed to go to the Bronx Zoo but Meghan did not know it was a date until Miguel kissed her mid-sentence. About five and a half years later, in March 2024, Miguel texted Meghan's co-worker Nicole asking her to assist with making sure Meghan had a manicure for the proposal. Nicole, who is actually the world's worst liar, pulled it off by telling Meghan she had a party that she needed to get her nails done for and asked Meghan to get one with her. The next day, Meghan and Miguel went on a date to the Long Island Aquarium. He initially said they were going to see a private show with sea lions but it was actually a penguin encounter, with cute penguin named Simon! The staff advised that there was a photographer on site who was going to take pictures to update their social media. We even signed release forms. After the educational lecture was over, the staff member asked Meghan and Miguel to stay for a training of Simon. Obviously they agreed! The member brought Simon in the back "to get him ready" and when she brought him back out, he had a bowtie that said "Marry Me?"
