On a sunny Summer day on Nantucket in 2014, I was given some life-changing advice by my then manager, Todd Billings (who just so happened to be one of Shawn's best friends). "Go see Fella at Tree Bar". Having no clue who 'fella' was, or really knowing where Tree Bar was, but knowing we were desperately in need of cocktails, we decided to give it a shot. And shots are what we got. Specifically, tequila shots. That first day was so much fun, that we decided to make it a habit, both in between shifts and on Tuesday nights. Thanks to Shawn's FIRE rap playlist, Tree Bar Tuesdays became the weekly standard. While I continued on with the Seasonal life for the next year and a half, we remained good friends. In 2015 I was back for the Summer and we found ourselves spending a LOT of time together. I moved to Boston that Winter, and Shawn made frequent trips to the city. The free place to stay was certainly a perk, but it seems like there was something (aside from the celtics/bruins games and concerts) that continually brought him back! After a ski trip to Loon over Presidents' Day weekend that Winter, we made it official and decided that would be our anniversary. NOT Valentines Day, just to be clear, but Presidents' Day. We realize this day changes yearly, but remembering dates isn't exactly our thing so here we are! Five years and one pup later on Presidents' Day 2021, Shawn popped the question while dining at one of our favorite restaurants in Newport, RI - Perro Salado! We are so excited to celebrate this milestone with all of you - the most beloved people in our lives, and can't wait for a New Years to remember! Thank you so much for all of your support, and for helping us get to this point. We wouldn't be here without each and every one of you! Now, let's get our party pants on, and ring in the New Year South Carolina style!
