What You Can Expect

New Mexico is known as the Land of Enchantment — a place where the mountains meet the sky, and time seems to slow beneath the desert sun. We will celebrate the love that has brought us here, the highest light of day of the Summer Solstice, & the joy of life under these enchanting skies. We value slow, intentional time connecting with our loved ones. We want our wedding to feel intimate, a space for genuine connection and a place where everyone feels involved. We've opted for a small wedding, on a significant day. We will celebrate amongst the Willows, the Rio Hondo River & the colorful sunset views of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains.

Anna & Michael's Story

They met because of their love for dancing. One night in December of 2022, they both attended 13 Moons Ranch for the monthly Ecstatic Dance. Anna had been there a few times, and it was Michael's first time, although not new to Ecstatic dance, he was new to the valley, having moved there only 2 weeks prior. They noticed each other right away, and there was something about the energy they were both exuding into the space; free, liberated, present. Ecstatic dance is a non-verbal community event, so the first two hours of being in each other's presence, there were no words, it was purely energy. Anna made it a point to make sure she was next to him in the closing circle. She was curious who this new guy was, so she introduced herself and they simply exchanged names and "Where you from?" They never exchanged numbers, and just went on with their lives. Their story unfolds slowly, and beautifully. Their first date was on March 9th, 2023. Michael took Anna out for curry at this cute Thai place in Aspen. They talked about yoga, spirituality, travel, nature and hobbies. Michael was working as a wilderness guide in Aspen and Anna was working at a Healing Sanctuary in Carbondale, about to start massage school the next day. Their second date was a cacao ceremony and Ecstatic Dance at 13 Moons, and their third was getting their hands dirty working sheep on the ranch, talking about their love for animals and the land. Michael took a new job as Livestock Manager at Rock Bottom Ranch, which was just 10 minutes from Anna's house on the river. They quickly learned they could both blend into different scenes and had many different passions. Neither one of them fits into a box. They fell in love with all versions of each other. They spent much of their time together in nature, on hikes, or soaking in the rivers and local hot springs. Anna has always had a deep connection with the natural world, but Michael helped her connect with it in new ways with his extensive background in ecology, wild places, and specifically the Rocky Mountains. Michael always felt connected to his Spirit and wellness practices, but Anna helped him create more ceremony and ritual in his life. Early on, they spoke to each other's heart's through music. They would send each other songs, and they often found the same songs spoke deeply to them. After spending the summer of 2023 together, a lot was up in the air. Michael's field of work took him to new places all the time, and Anna was pretty rooted in Carbondale. They shared a really hard goodbye, with no strings attached, and wanted whatever was best for each other. This was the real test of their love- setting each other free. Michael went to Argentina to work on a beautiful ranch in Patagonia. Anna remained in Carbondale and focused on her new career. She prayed somehow time and circumstance would bring them together. In March of 2024, a year after their first date, Michael decided to leave the lonely cowboy life behind, and move back to Carbondale to be with the woman he had fallen in love with. They spent another 9 months in Carbondale, before deciding to start a new life together in Durango, CO, where Michael could find more structured work, and where they could have a more grounded foundation for their life together. It has taken a lot of sacrifice, hard work, and consistently choosing each other. After six months in Durango together, Michael proposed!
