We both found ourselves at WTR in Tampa one night a twist of fate that would change everything. For me, Kyra, it was my first time there. I had just moved to Florida and was hoping to meet new people. That’s when I met Garrett. We hit it off right away. Instant laughter, easy conversation, and good vibes. After the sun went down, I offered Garrett, his brother Graham and friend Cole, a ride back to their place. The first song they requested in the car? "You’re Welcome" from Moana. I knew right then: these were my people. The night didn’t end there. We all headed downtown, and Garrett, surprise surprise, found a karaoke bar and sang his heart out. It was the start of something special, and we’ve been laughing (and singing) ever since.
We went on a family cruise to Alaska with Garrett’s parents and my grandparents. A trip full of unforgettable moments. One of the most incredible was a helicopter excursion to Hubbard Glacier. The ride itself was breathtaking, soaring over snowcapped mountains, crystal clear lakes, and ancient glaciers. When we landed, the only people around were me, Garrett, our families, and the helicopter pilot, surrounded by pure, untouched beauty. We wandered the glacier, admiring nature's sculptures and listening to water trickling through icy streams. We took tons of photos, laughing and soaking in the surreal moment. Then, while we were posing for a picture together, with everyone saying “Look here!” Garrett said, “Now look at me.” I turned to find him down on one knee, holding the most beautiful ring I’ve ever seen, asking me to marry him. I said yes, surrounded by glaciers, love, and the people who mean the most to us.
