Brother of the Bride & Marriage Witness
Em’s little (but taller) brother, the ultimate adventure, can-do attitude and family orientated guy you’ll come across. Having been a best friend and sharing all the joys and challenges of life together until now, it only makes sense that Matt witnesses the marriage and commits to continuing to support Em and Chris through this next chapter. Matt's also bringing out his best RM Williams belt for the occasion, and that’s a big deal.
Brother of the Groom & Marriage Witness
Chris’ big brother, and sidekick through life. Growing up Scott and Chris spent almost every night of the school week playing sport together, and enjoying farm life on the weekends. One day in their early teens, Chris and Scott were outside when Chris rolled their little green quad bike. In true big brother style, Scott was quick to run over and check everything was ok, mostly that the bike still worked and then took the keys off Chris for the rest of the weekend. Having always had each other's backs through life until now, it’s perfect that Scott has accepted to witness the marriage and commits to continuing to support Chris and Em through this next chapter.
Bridesmaid
More commonly known as “Murt”. As Em’s cousin and non-biological big sister, some of the best memories shared involve singing to Cyndi Lauper in a purple torana and planning to open a sandwich and juice bar as teenagers together. Murt famously sang ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow” in her speech at Em’s 21st Birthday… what a vibe to have in the bridal party!
Groomsman
Zach or otherwise known as Kanga, has been in Em and Chris’ lives for over 20 years, having been to primary school with Em and then attending Flinders with Em and Chris. Zach and Chris spent their teenage years playing footy together for Traralgon and TTU, as well as rocking Justin Beiber inspired haircuts. They also once attended a dress up party together when they were 16 as Men In Black... and the photos still exist on the internet!
Bridesmaid
Mad is Em’s cousin and non-biological little sister. They grew up playing with Barbies and Bratz dolls together, spending school holidays playing 500 at Nan & Pa’s and learning the ropes of how to cook well. As soon as Em had her licence, school holidays began to include more shopping trips to Melbourne, and seeking out decadent desserts that included nutella or peanut butter.
Groomsman
Since meeting in secondary school when Denby arrived at Flinders with every shade of blonde in his very cool hair, there wouldn't have been many weeks go by where Denby and Chris haven't spent time together, playing basketball, trips to the local Irish pub, or playing games together online. Denby is the mate you can always rely on for a laugh and good memories.
Bridesmaid
Also known as “Bella”. As one of Em’s longest and dearest friends, the only thing that’s ever come between the two was whether or not a pair of converse sneakers were authentic or not in grade 6. Bella and Em were joined at the hip during their teenage years, always causing trouble for the parent teacher interviews Fiona had to attend. Of all the trips and memories they share, one of the most notable (and helpful life experiences for 2020) was spending 7 days in Chinese Government Quarantine together during the 2009 Swine Flu pandemic.
Groomsman
Jacob, Jake, Fluff… he and Chris met in primary school which makes him one of Chris’ longests mates. Some of Chris’ best teenage memories involve Fluff. He was the host of many epic ‘shed shindigs’ in Traralgon South, played footy with Chris, and the two experienced their lives flashing before their eyes on year 10 camp when they found themselves in trouble with one of the teachers! Jacob also has a signature self titled dance move that with any luck we will see at the wedding!
Flower Girl
Whilst just 7 years old, Joni was born ready for the important role of Flower Girl and has been practicing in her special shoes for almost a year now. She has attended venue inspections, made key floral decisions and been essential in supporting Em and the Bridesmaids ahead of the big day. Joni is vibrant, funny and also capable of drinking from a champagne glass - so don't be alarmed if you see her with a champagne glass of water at the wedding!
Page Boy
At just 8 years old, Tanner is a total lego master and can build just about anything! Em and Chris love racing lego cars with him - just ask him about how well Pedal Power races! Tanner is caring, clever, a talented remote control buggy driver and a Richmond fan, although he won't be debuting a Dusty inspired haircut for the wedding.
Page Boy
Although our littlest bridal party member in age being 6, Jax’s personality is far from little! Jax brings so much joy into Em and Chris’ life through his passion for not only Essendon, but half the AFL league, as well as his love for his fish, his dog Cody and his sea monkeys! Family nights with Jax are usually spent playing Uno in our team, “The Wildcats” - but don't be fooled by Jax’s cute smile when he tells you a draw 4 is the only card he has.
