The dress code for our wedding is semi-formal attire. (Ladies please note: Our venue is at a farm. You will be having to walk through grass quite a bit & because of that we wouldn't recommend wearing heels.)
We hired our wedding photographer because we love their work. We are requesting that our ceremony be cell phone free so that everyone can enjoy & take in this once in a lifetime moment for us. There will be plenty of photos our photographer takes that we can't wait to share with everyone after.
We love kids & can't wait to celebrate our day with everyone. Our only request is that if at any point your child begins to interrupt our ceremony that you quickly remove yourselves.
Our ceremony & reception are being held at the same venue: Hidden Meadow & Barn in Pepin, Wisconsin. One of the main reasons we picked this venue is because we love the ceremony grounds (which are outside). We plan on the ceremony itself to be no longer than 20 minutes & plan to do everything we can to ensure our ceremony can happen outside in the meadow. (See our next FAQ regarding weather & a backup plan). The reception is going to be held in an open sided pavilion that has walls that can close & heaters we can turn on if & when the evening begins to get chilly. We want to have an enjoyable evening for all & want everyone to be comfortable.
As we all know, no one can predict what the weather will be like in October in the Midwest. It could be sunny & beautiful, rainy, or snowy (which we are hoping it’s not). Temperatures also vary greatly in the Fall in the Midwest. If the day happens to be lightly sprinkling rain or is slightly chilly we still plan on having our ceremony outside in the meadow (keep in mind it will be a short ceremony). If this is the case we recommend bringing a blanket and/or umbrella to use to stay comfortable during the ceremony. In the event that there are any extreme weather conditions that would prevent us from having the ceremony outside, we have a backup plan & everything will still be happening at the same venue. Know that we plan on keeping a close eye on the weather for that day & will be making appropriate final decisions. We truly believe in the power of prayer & would love some prayers that the weather cooperates for us on our special day.
Our ceremony is at 4:00pm. We recommend people begin arriving 30 minutes prior.
Once the ceremony has ended we will be taking photos for about an hour to take advantage of sunset. Guests can head over to the pavilion for social hour where there will be drinks, snacks & games.
We plan on the reception/dance going until 11:00pm & can't wait to celebrate all night with everyone, but of course you are free to leave whenever. We will be doing a sparkler send off that all are welcome to participate in!
We are requesting that everyone RSVPs regardless if they can come or not (we will miss you if you can't make it). We want to be sure that our guest list & numbers are accurate to ensure the day goes as smoothly as possible. Please RSVP by September 23rd under the "RSVP" page on our website. Thank you!
If your invitation says "and Guest" then yes. We request that you note on your RSVP & provide us with the name of your guest if you will be bringing one so we have accurate final numbers & can plan our seating chart accordingly.
There is plenty of parking for guests at our venue. You may leave your car overnight as long as it is picked up by 9am the next morning as there will be another wedding the day after ours at that venue.
