My favorite long-standing sit-down brunch spot with decadent dishes like lobster Benedict and croissant French toast. Perfect for a warm day when you can sit outside in their backyard. There will be a long wait and they don’t take reservations, but it’s worth it.
Famous for their Ocean Roll–a croissant/cinnamon roll hybrid–this bakery is known as the best in town. There are two locations, the full bakery and the Mercado, which offers a smaller menu.
Be sure to hit the location on Galveston. They’ve got a great patio and offer everything from fresh juices and smoothies to coffee, matcha, kombucha, and a full brunch menu, including sandwiches, toasts, and burritos.
A classic Bend food cart lot with everything you could want plus indoor and outdoor seating and all the local vibes. Known for their cheap pints of Rainier, plus wine and cider options and more food trucks than you’ll know what to do with. Toasty has an insanely good vegan crunch wrap supreme a la Taco Bell, but so much better. And Little Slice of Hell makes incredible cheesecakes with vegan and gluten-free options that you won’t believe are anything but normal.
The best Italian food you’ll find in Bend with an upscale vibe for those nicer dinners out. Dishes are meant to share, so try a little of everything, along with a cocktail or two and a bottle of wine. Don’t miss the focaccia and the fennel and sausage pasta. You will need a reservation to get in.
A cute little sit-down Vietnamese spot in the Old Mill. A step above hole-in-the-wall and perfect for lunch or casual dinner. Solid options when you’re craving pho, bao, spring rolls, and funky cocktails.
Perfect for when there’s a chill in the air (or you’re just craving something slurpable). The spicy miso ramen is a house favorite, and they have gluten-free noodle options as well. Don’t miss out on the buns to round out your meal.
Arguably the nicest spot in town with a focus on high-end steak and an incredible sommelier. Try the tasting menu for a unique and delightful dining experience.

This 97-foot waterfall cascades down a dramatic cliff face in the heart of the Deschutes National Forest.
It formed after nearby Lava Butte erupted some 6,000 years ago and remains a remarkable site in all seasons today. It can be easily viewed from two trailheads—including the Benham Falls East Day Use Area and Trailhead, which invites visitors to enjoy a short hike before seeing the waterfall.
The tallest waterfall in Oregon is a must see! Only 30 miles from Portland in the Columbia River Gorge.
Last place Dan and Jenny camped at as Oregonians before venturing east. Lots of memories here! This place is a must visit for hiking, sightseeing and camping. I also highly recommend the Umpqua Hot Springs only an hour and a half drive from Crater Lake.
