Dan and Jenny met at work in Portland, Oregon and became fast friends. They bonded over fantasy football, music and all things Marvel! After a few months and despite Jenny making fun of Dan for wishing them to be the "Jim and Pam" of the office, she clearly had fallen for him too. Soon they moved across the country together and the rest is history!

On a family trip to Hawaii, Dan and Jenny spent time together on the Big Island sight seeing. Dan surprised Jenny mid-day with plans to propose at Akaka Falls, but he had yet to find a placeholder ring. After much consideration, they found the ring and made it to the Falls where Dan got down on one knee. As a result they were running late to a sunset dinner Dan's mom had made reservations for. Naturally she was a little annoyed when she learned Dan would be late (yet again) but once she learned they were engaged, she quickly changed her tune and wanted to announce it to the whole world! The dinner reservation was adjusted, sunset was still seen and tears were shed. The next day, an obligatory photo opportunity on the beach at sunset was done to recreate the proposal.
