Jordan and Cherie matched on Hinge in October 2020. They dated for a while, traveling back and forth between New Hampshire and New Jersey. In 2021, they made it official. In 2022, they purchased their first home, and in 2023, they got engaged.

Cherie came to visit me while I worked at the University of New Hampshire. She thought I was interesting because she never met a black guy from New Hampshire, even though I kept telling her I was from Mass. We met in Portsmouth, NH and had conversations all night. She looked better in person and had bold yet loving personality. She talked about her goals, aspirations, family and her obsession with reality love shows. But I also appreciated that she wanted to hear my thoughts, experiences, family and love for football. She was new to the area and thought everyone lived on farms so I decided to take her to the Museum of Art in Portland, ME. We visited shops in the area and finished the night with a meal at Shay's Bar. It was a good night and felt we should hang out the next day. We went to the Kittery shops the next day and I made sure she didn't leave empty handed. I gave her chocolates, a Yankee Candle and UNH gear before she went back to New Jersey. To this day she still wears that UNH shirt and there's been no looking back.

After two months of talking, I decided to visit Jordan. I worked from home due to COVID, so it was easier for me to hop in a car to meet him. Unfortunately, he was still working in person, so I drove to New Hampshire to meet him for his 33rd birthday. I stayed at the AC Hotel because, once again, we met online and he was technically a stranger lol. The first time I saw him, the hotel elevator opened, and I was so happy he did not catfish me with his height, and he was actually 6'3. He came in for a hug and dropped his bottle on the floor. I could tell he was nervous, but I was relieved lol. He took me to the Portland Museum of Art in Maine, Lisa-Marie's Made In Maine, and Shay’s Grill Pub, and then we walked around the Marina. It's safe to say it was the best date ever, and knew he would be a keeper.
