Local Dining & Drinks

The Wedding Website of Danielle Flikkema and Matthew Lodge
Being that we met working in the restaurant industry, and we love dining out, we wanted to share some of our favorite local spots with you. If you are in town for the weekend or want to grab a bite on Sunday before the party begins, these are some places you’d likely bump into us (if it wasn’t our wedding weekend 😝): Disclaimer: We did not include The Walrus Room, Alchemist, Bad Alice, or Bogarts on this list because those are all locations that are part of our progressive reception on Sunday, but they are decidedly favorites as well).

Art History Brewing

649 West State Street, Geneva, IL 60134

One of the many local breweries around, Matt really likes several of their beers. They often have food trucks on the weekends and sometimes live music.

Barrel + Rye

477 South 3rd Street, Geneva, IL 60134

Next door to Alchemist, this is a great dinner spot. Be sure to make resos or call ahead as it's a smaller place. Great cocktails, lots of bourbon options!

Bien Trucha

410 West State Street, Geneva, IL 60134

Call ahead seating, great spicy cucumber margarita and bourbon sangria. Recommend fish, shrimp, and bien trucha tacos- but can't really go wrong. Fun fact, Dani worked here one summer.

Broken Brix

225 West Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174

This is one of our current favorite Happy Hour spots. Go for local Cider, Beer, Wine, and Mead. Tell Mike, Ed, and Sue we said Heyyyy!

Fresh Donuts

1188 East State Street, Geneva, IL 60134

Best breakfast sandwiches in town, hands down. Dani loves a croissant, ham, egg, and cheese. Matt goes for the same but with sausage. Delish.

Niche Restaurant

14 South 3rd Street, Geneva, IL 60134

Niche is closed on Sundays- which we're lucky for or else a good amount of our friends couldn't attend our wedding! But if you get in on Friday or Saturday and want to check an awesome spot out, definitely make a reservation for Niche. Tell John or Vinny we sent you, and give your compliments to Wes, the executive chef! :)

Nobel House

307 West State Street, Geneva, IL 60134

Solid food, lots of BBQ options, but plenty of other items too. Be sure to say hi to our friends Chelsea, Archie, or Jon if you stop in! :)

Nosh

22 North 3rd Street, Geneva, IL 60134

Solid breakfast/brunch spot!

Riverside Pizza & Pub - St. Charles

102 East Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174

Great pizza (The Don is a personal favorite!).

Smitty's On the Corner

15 East Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174

A great spot for a quick lunch- the turkey berry and tuna melt are awesome!

State Street Diner

630 West State Street, Geneva, IL 60134

Our favorite greasy spoon diner. No resos and usually a wait, but totally worth it. Tell Pam we say hi!

The Evergreen Pub & Grill

1400 West Main Street, St. Charles, IL 60174

A great no frills option for solid bar food. Fun fact, this is Dani's summer job!

Town House Books

105 North 2nd Avenue, St. Charles, IL 60174

Great lunch cafe with attached bookstore. The townhouse club is our favorite. The desserts are always solid too.
