Things To Do

The Spotted Cat Music Club

623 Frenchmen Street, New Orleans, LA 70117

Fun music venue for classic New Orleans style jazz and swing.

Barataria Preserve

6588 Barataria Boulevard, Marrero, LA 70072

Cool area to see alligators, swamps, and beautiful nature. About a 40 minute drive from downtown.

Free Walking Tours

We did two of these free tours when we were last in New Orleans and loved them. They're enjoyable, informative, and totally free (with an option to tip at the end). We did the French Quarter tour and the voodoo tour and loved both, but there's many to choose from.

Algiers Point

New Orleans, LA 70114

Take a cheap and quick ferry ride across the river to wander through some the the cutest cottages in New Orleans, in the city's second oldest neighborhood.

Willie Mae’s Nola

898 Baronne Street, New Orleans, LA 70113

The new location of a historic New Orleans fried chicken spot. We visited the original location before a fire took it out and were blown away by the soul food! There are many imitating businesses around New Orleans with deceptively similar names, but this is the OG business.

New Orleans Jazz Museum

400 Esplanade Avenue, New Orleans, LA 70116

Mardi Gras World

1380 Port of New Orleans Place, New Orleans, LA 70130

A chance to see Mardi Gras floats up close, and learn about how they’re made, as well as the holiday’s history.

Ogden Museum of Southern Art

925 Camp Street, New Orleans, LA 70130

Central Grocery and Deli

923 Decatur Street, New Orleans, LA 70116

Small Italian market and deli. Home of the muffuletta sandwich, which is great for sharing! Vegetarian option available too
