For some pre-wedding-weekend wine tasting, the city of Woodinville (only about 15 minutes away from our venue) offers a broad selection of tasting rooms from vineyards across the state of Washington.
For those looking to come up the week before the wedding and make an adventure out of the trip - the San Juan Islands are absolutely breath taking. Take the ferry from Anacortes (about a 2 hour drive from SeaTac Airport) over to Friday Harbor. Keep your eyes open for whales even on the ferry ride over, and if you don't see any marine life on the ferry, book a whale watching tour or rent some kayaks. In addition, explore the cute downtown shops and restaurants by the ferry terminal in Friday Harbor and make sure to visit San Juan Brewery!
Another island on the list, and this one a bit nearer and dearer to our hearts. Catch the ferry from Mukilteo (about an hour from SeaTac Airport) and visit Whidbey Island. Contact the bride and groom for recommendations while out there, or the Mother of the Bride Lauri Thomas. From hikes, to beach walks, and fancy bunnies in Langley, traveling to Whidbey is a great way to spend the day.
The Sunrise Visitor Center is only about 2 hours from SeaTac Airport. Breathe in the fresh mountain air and see this majestic mountain (volcano) up close and personal. There are so many fun hikes to do in the National Park, you just need choose the one that's right for you and your level of adventure. Reach out to the Groom, or Bridesmaid Hailey Kuykendall for trailhead recommendations.
By June, baseball season will be in full-swing! Take a trip over to T-Mobile Park and catch a Mariner's game. This is where the Bride and Groom met for the first time. Tickets to a weekday game in center field range between $5-$20, so this is an affordable way to check off another baseball stadium off your list... unless you like beer... then don't go to the beer garden in center field - it's way too much fun and far too dangerous to your wallet.
For those looking to get their shopping in or for last minute attire for the wedding, take a trip to the Bellevue Square Mall. "Bell Square" is a very clean and safe representation of what a city can look like in Washington. There are so many great restaurants and things to do in Bellevue.
Discovery Park is a 534-acre park on the shores of Puget Sound in the Magnolia neighborhood of Seattle, Washington. As the city's largest public park, it contains 11.81 miles of walking trails. The Discovery Park Loop Trail, designated a National Recreation Trail in 1975, runs 2.8 miles through the park, connecting to other trails. Forests, beaches, prairies, and bluffs dominate the landscape of the park. This is a great way to see the Puget Sound and our coastal forests while exploring the city of Seattle.
Please note it is "Pike Place", "Pike Market", or "The Market". The number 1 and 2 ways to tell if someone is from out-of-town is if they have an umbrella or if they call it "Pike's Place". For those who have not been there, you absolutely should knock this off the bucket list. Go watch the fish get thrown, see the gum wall, and grab some mac and cheese from Beecher's. Then take a trip to Seattle Center and visit some of the museums by the Space Needle or take a trip to the top, even! *You do need a ticket to go to the top of the Space Needle and they range in price from $40-$60 per person.
Come on over to the East Side and give us a visit in Kirkland! Downtown gives off a small, and quaint beachside vibe. There are some great bars and restaurants. Go to Cactus and order the Austin-Style chips and guac + the Pablo's Special or have a pretzel and some beers at Moss Bay Beer Hall.
