Zack and Emma first met in middle school; sixth grade art class, to be exact. Though they went through both middle and high school together, their paths rarely crossed. Zack was athletic and academic, while Emma was artistic and social. Fast forward to the summer of 2021, Emma became friends with one of Zack’s friends who quickly made it his mission to get the pair together. With the help of Zack’s friends, the two were constantly “coincidentally” placed side by side, whether in the car, at restaurants, or anywhere else they could orchestrate. Luckily for the couple, their plan worked. What started with group chat banter soon turned into private conversations, then into secret hand-holding, and finally, Zack asking Emma on their first date. That date lasted eight hours (complete with a parking ticket that Emma still keeps as a memento). For the first two years their relationship was long distance while Zack was at Virginia Tech. This period was filled with countless eight hour road trips. When Zack moved back home, the two only lived fifteen minutes apart, a welcome change after so much time on the road. Since then, they’ve been inseparable, spending nearly every day together and looking forward to spending all their days ahead as husband and wife.
