Our love story began on a crisp Fall evening a few Octobers ago in downtown Winston-Salem North Carolina at a fine establishment known as "Whiskey Dawgs." Neither Rachel nor Josh were expecting much from a Tuesday night out in a town that was new to the both of them, but fate had different ideas. Now, for some context, both Rachel and Josh attended a Country concert earlier that night... but not together. Josh and his hockey teammates decided to check out the annual Carolina Classic Fair, while Rachel and some nurse friends planned on seeing up and coming country artist Niko Moon. Once the concert finished, both ended up at the ever popular and nearby watering hole Whiskey Dawgs. In between games of beer pong, Josh was standing at the bar waiting to be served, when a short blonde girl with no fear approached him, tapped him on the shoulder, and asked if he was from Saginaw, Michigan. The look on his face had to have been priceless. "How do you know what Saginaw is?" he responded. "Because I'm from Saginaw" she said. Talk about the ultimate ice breaker! From that moment, the couple that grew up less than 5 minutes from each other began to go down a memory lane unlike any other. Mutual friends, favorite home town restaurants, sports teams, even the cars they drive, all things the lovely couple would discover they have in common. A friendly game of darts would spark more chemistry, and from that night on, the two would become inseparable. It didn't take long for them to realize they found their person. A love that came so naturally to the both of them, in a town 700 miles away from their own.
